Hi guys
I did a mega-intro including SOA in this thread here but now want to start my continuing diary separate from that.
Here's to the beginning of the journey!
My travels have got off to a good start this morning. I heard about a free sim with Blyk which gives you texts and minutes without having to top up and someone also mentioned getting cashback through Cashback Kings. Then I read that if you're already a member of Quidco you get your £5 fee on CBK waived! So along I went to sign up to Quidco to discover I was already a member, and have £25 sat there waiting for me :j looks like it was from when I dabbled in matched betting, the money has been there since March '07! I'd never put in any bank details though hence it wasn't spent already.
Got my tax credits paid in for the week yesterday and got about £20 more than usual which led me to believe that my dispute about the supposed overpayment had been sorted out and they weren't taking it off me anymore but I called to see if I was going to get back what had been retrieved so far (yes I'm a cheeky moo) to be told that the overpayment collection was just on hold while they looked into the dispute. Wonder how long that will take?
I feel like such a bad mum, I haven't taken the babies out anywhere for a couple of weeks. A combination of no money and dreadful weather means we're all bouncing off the walls (apart from Megan, who is rolling around on the floor). So we're going to the local soft-play centre today with a friend and her little boy (Mollys boyfriend!), at £3.25 to get in it's going to be a pricey trip out when I have to pay for Megan too!

Always a good feeling to discover money you never knew was there!
Good luck with your journey - I find the support on these boards and the ideas you get from looking at the various threads throughout make all the difference.

Hi kymbogs
Welcome! I saw your soa yesterday, but didn't manage to post, you sound like you're up and running, especially if you've already dabbled in matched betting - thats great! There's a lot of money in that. I thought I'd made about £250 last season, but when I was withdrawing my latest lot from betfair, I noticed that I'd withdrawn over £500 more than I'd deposited - and thats not counting where I'd won at the bookies and lost at betfair, so I'd withdrawn from the bookie. And I count myself a beginner, I really do. You could certainly go for that again, especally now that the footie's just started.
All the best.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hiya,
I know you weren't asking me but :P anyway lol, you need to be sent an invitation number and whether you are or not will depend on whether they want you or not! It all depends on where you are/age/sex etc whether they need people like you or not at the moment. There's sites you can register with, or I think you can email shopandscan direct through their site, and they will get in touch if they have a 'vacancy' for you.:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls

Hi Karmacat
Oh god matched betting absolutely drove me doolally! I felt like I was doing the trapeze without a net lol I was sort of making it up as I went along and hoping it worked! I read and re-read the stuff on here about it but it just wouldn't sink in. I don't think I actually lost any money but I do think the only money I actually made was that £25 I just found out about from quidco lol. I'm not completely thick by the way but I just couldn't make sense of it at all, don't know if it's cos I don't understand much about betting as it is.
Besides I seem to be spending all my 'free' time doing surveys and comping at the mo, if I try and do something else when the babies have gone to bed I may just never get to bed!
Cheers

A message from the great hypno! sorry lol I've seen your name mentioned in various threads, nice to see you 'in the flesh'
I just wish I had the time to read through all the threads on here! It's such a busy place and the DFW forum in particular seems to be incredibly fast-moving.
Cheers for the message

Hey there BF,
yup here I am and here I shall be for some time! Thanks for keeping up with me
I'm confused. What's this business about talking to your DH about signing up for something?

Not long been home from our adventures in getting-out-of-the-house.
Managed to get us all up, dressed, fed and watered and inserted into pushchairs in plenty of time to head down to the Big Blue Frog where we were meeting Fran and James at half ten. At about 10 past 10 Fran called to say James had just fallen asleep so they'd be late but as the weather was so nice we should probably do something else. Since I didn't fancy spending the next hour waiting around in town for James to wake up and them to get to town I said we'd walk on to theirs and the babies could play out on their back decking, so along we trundled.
So I saved money not paying to go to the Big Blue Frog but I will probably take Molly next week as it's been ages since she's been. So only spent £1.40 on my bus home (scandalous if you ask me!). In fact I've been meaning to write to FirstBus about that. We went to a friends' sons' 1st birthday party a couple of weeks ago and the bus from town to there cost £1.10. I looked up how far it is from town to there, and town to here, and it's more than double to where they live, yet it costs more for me! I just don't get it! I need to get into the habit of walking home, it's only a mile or thereabouts but it's alllllll uphill and pushing 4 - 5 stone of pushchair + babies + changing bag up the hill, well I'm knackered just thinking about it!
Am going to start my spending diary now I've dug out an appropriate notepad (actually it's a bit too big but never mind it's the only one I could find that isn't being used for something else, and buying a new one sort of defeats the object) and I've got my receipts from yesterday and even my bus ticket from today to write in.

Good morning everyone, I was about to say there was a beautiful blue sky but I just looked out the window again and it's clouded over :rolleyes2
Today we're going to poddle on down to the shops, we're lucky as there's an Aldi, Home Bargains and inStore about a 10 minute walk down the road - trouble is getting home with it all if you get carried away lol. Just going for veggies but if I see any obvious bargains for things I would be buying in the Big Grocery Shop anyway, I'll get them.
We're going to take a couple of extra carrier bags with us as there's a wooded path off to the side on the way down to the shops and I want to see if there's any blackberries or anything edible at all really. I don't think we'll get very far down it with the tandem but I just want to see. I'm also looking for recipes for things to make with rose hips as there's a great big bush across the road covered in them. But it makes me wonder if the reason you don't see rose hip jam on the shelves in supermarkets is because it's vile?:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
