Afternoon
I got my Simply Be statement in the post this morning and with it came a letter saying 'Did you know we owe you £98.57?' It went on to say how I was £98.57 in credit and I could buy anything I wanted and take £98.57 of he total price...I read it a few times trying to work out what was going on then when I looked at my statement I thought hmm isn't that a coincidence, my outstanding balance is £98.57....
So I called them and they said it's been sent out in error to just about every customer.
Damn. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted! And I was sensible too - at first I had it all spent in my head, but then I thought well if I'm in credit I'll ask for the money and pay it off a debt.
Why do thing like this never work out for me? My sister had (has?) a giant Littlewoods account costing her hundreds each month and in arrears. She had PPI on it and when she was off from work sick, the PPI paid off the total, all the arrears, and some extra somehow so she ended up with a cheque from Littlewoods for about £500! Soooo what I should do is, run up a huge bill with a catalogue, not pay my monthly payments, go off sick from work for awhile and get a £500 cheque. Sounds like a plan?:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls

Hi Kym
I like your library book thing and then costing the ingredients on Tesco - wow! Thats very, very efficient.
And so is your phone call to the catalogue people - it *did* work out for you, if you hadn't thought ahead like that, you might have doubled your debt to them because of a stupid computer error. Good for you!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hi Kym, I know the feeling, everyone else seems to land on their feet! One day it will be you, and you'll be speaking to others asking 'Why isn't it me' !! And well done on ringing up and speaking to them instead of just spending it - can you write and complain, say you were emotionally upset etc etc, see if you can get them to clear it??
worth a try!!!
Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Hahahaha that's pretty funnyI did something similar once when Wilkinsons took a debit out of my account 4 times for the same transaction and it emptied our account. I sent a letter to head office saying how I was distraught as I needed to buy nappies and milk for my baby, and they sent me £30 of vouchers.

Gosh I'm tired. No change there then!
I realised this afternoon that I haven't uploaded/ordered any photos of the girls in 2 and a half months! I now have a mammoth task ahead of me. See, cos I'm stupid, when I first started taking photos of Molly and getting them printed not only did I put them all in a nice album, I also wrote on the back of each photo a) the date it was taken b) how many weeks and days old she was in the photo and c) a caption for each one. Which was easy enough to begin with but then when I don't do it for awhile they build up and it gets so sorting them all out is an evening-long task involving a diary, the laptop, photos and a pen. I think when I get this new lot I'm just going to have to put them in the album for now and I can come back to them later if/when I get the chance. I've got a code for 20 free ones plus £3.50 cashback through quidco, the rest will have to wait till thursday to be ordered.
We've got visitors coming on Sunday, the in-laws (who live locallish) and also brother-in-law, his girlfriend and 2 of his progeny. Seeing as they couldn't make it to the party we had for Megan a few weeks ago they suggested coming up at the bank holiday weekend for a picnic. However the place the in-laws originally decided we would go is hosting a bank holiday weekend funfair and will be packed, noisy, and is inconvenient for us at the best of times. I suggested having the picnic in our garden instead, as it means Molly has her toys and can run around without us having to watch her like hawks, either of the babies can go to their cots if they get tired, we can all go inside if it rains, etc. But then I was worried we'd be expected to provide all the food so I got Husband to call his mother to ask what we should make, and to make it clear we need to know ASAP as our shopping is coming on Thursday. In the end we've been nominated jacket spuds to do (which I guess means I need to think of a filling or two to put in) and rolls for the burgers (I think they're being hopeful expecting barbecue weather) which I will make on Saturday.
Anyway I'll be off to bed shortly, night everyone
