YAY Thanks for this, I put my foot down and said yes we will go to the in-laws for boxing day but I am not staying the night in horrible hard single beds in a place i feel uncomfortable. Now I have a ten pound room 20 miles away and feel happy :-D

lol. I can picture that discussion now..
Them: "Its ok, you can stay here". You: "No really, I dont mind, I wouldnt want to put you out". Them: "Oh but its no trouble really, stay here". You: "Really, its not a problem, theres a TravelLodge only 20miles up the road".

  • Do you have to specify a family room while booking? If so, how do you do this?

yes you do have to book the family rooms before you go ,when you check for availability the room choices they have left at £10 come up on the page ie say it comes up bouble room if you look underneath this is will say other rooms available family room 4 then just click on the family room book this room option which again is underneath the family room 4 hope you can understand this.we booked two £10 family rooms this way for scotland. hope you bag one.

I booked a double room (as that was all that was available) but would have preferred a family room as there are 2 of us plus a small child. The small child can easily bunk up with us, we don't mind, but does anyone know if the staff note numbers or will object to 3 people in a double room? I am assuming they won't even notice???
