Not sure if I'm allowed to post in here, but is anyone else staying at Battersea for NYE? If so, what are you doing, as I have no idea of what we can do, as I am going with my OH, my cousin, his OH, and their 8 month old baby. What would be the best idea? Other can reply aswell of course, if you can be of any help, that would be appreciated! :D

    Hi

We (Myself, My OH, 16 yr old son and Mother in law) are staying at Battersea from the 29th dec to the 1st Jan.

    Our plans so far :-

Dec 29th - Evening perfomance of We will rock you at the Dominion Theatre.

Dec 30th - Bit of sight seeing, madame tussauds, london eye etc.
This is my sons 17th Birthday, anyone reccomend something to make his Birthday extra enjoyable ?

Dec 31st - Hopefully the Tottenham v Newcastle game if I can get tickets (can anyone help with this one ?)

We was thinking of going to trafalgar square to see in the New year, unless someone else knows of better places to go ?

I've stayed at the Battersea Travelodge before, and found it to be warm, clean and tidy and reasonably quiet.

The best way to get there is to get the tube to Earls court, and then catch the C3 bus, which stops right outside the travelodge.

If I can be of further help, let me know.

    Horizon, that's brilliant.

How far is Trafalgar Square? I want to save as much as I can, as I wont have that much money for new years. We were thinking about going down the pub, but each one is going to be overpriced, and the most important thing, crowded, and we have a baby to think about (but hey, he may aswell see his first new year in like this eh! :))

Anyway, so what would be the best thing to do on the 30th and 31st day time? For cheap people ;)

And so yeah, is trafalgar sq within walking distance, or what would be the best way to get there?
  • Any more suggestions for good pubs/clubs and a nearby TravelLodge for new years eve?. Still stuck for ideas, so if you know of a travelodge near your town and any decent pubs/clubs nearby, please let me know. I may be older, but I still love to party!. Please help :)

Haha Sandy, dont we all! I hope you find someone to help. There are some places I could recommend here, but there's not a Travelodge near me.

As for me, I'm young, but feel old, so need to get out and party once in a while! :D

I was planning on sort of ending up in Trafalgar Square sometime before midnight !! So haven't planned out a route to get there as such. Much will depend on whether I manage to get tickets for the Football match earlier in the day as to where we will be beforehand.

But I have planned the route back after midnight.

Catch the Number N44 bus at 00:43 from Trafalgar sq / Whitehall to Sutton Station / The Quadrant. Get off at the Plough road / York Road junction and its a 2 minute walk back to the Travelodge. The bus journey is about 16 minutes.

Also try - https://www.london2for1.com for plenty of offers at the tourist attractions.

And if you want to see We Will Rock You (a brilliant show, whether you like Queens music or not) then Quote "DVD OFFER" when calling ticketmaster, and the seats are £25 instead of £55 !

For other free / cheap things to do, check out this site.

    Hope this helps.

    What's it all about?

Travelodge is offering a selection of rooms for a bargainous £10 again. This deal, first posted by a savvy MoneySaver, has become a regular spot on the chat forums and is always popular.

What do I need to do?

The game here is to see if you can hunt out a room for £10. Travelodge has made this much easier by including a £10 room search tool on the site.

    Any Conditions?

The room needs to be booked before midnight on 13 November for stays between 18 December and 8 January and needs to be booked online. £10 rooms can't be cancelled. Have a look here for a full list of theparticipating hotels.

    Back to the original post...

TravelLodge have just e-mailed. They have £10 rooms over Xmas and New Year. Seem to be quite a few available but you'll have to be quick.

    See

    Good Luck

The deadline for booking has now been extended until midnight on Sunday 20th November... Booked several rooms for family & friends over the holiday period, lovely to visit/have guests without being a pain (or, in my case have a huge tidying up frenzy!!) Thanks to OP.

The only hotel I could get was at Canary Wharf on the 31st of december....I know some people are saying why stay there but for £10 it's only to sleep in and you can't go wrong at that price.I will be going into central london to celebrate New Year and just going back to canary wharf to sleep...Anybody any idea of the best way to get home from trafalgar square?
