Many thanks go to the OP, I have just managed to book a family room for 3 nights at London Docklands just before Christmas.

This will be fantastic as we can visit family and give them their presents by hand for a change see the Christmas lights and take in a few sights too!

    Ooohhh I can't wait!

Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.

I have just booked 2 rooms at Ashford for 28 December. We are going to DLP, courtesy of Tesco Clubcard, on 29 December for 3 nights, and this will mean less driving for my husband on the Thursday.

Many thanks to the OP for this.

I booked Derby for 3 nights over New Years as we have family there, be nice to see them without the stress for them and us staying there! The only thing I am worried about is how big are the £10 rooms? Are they big enough for a family cos we booked over the phone but stated how many people there were so should be okay
    Money's too tight to mention!!!

YAY Thanks for this, I put my foot down and said yes we will go to the in-laws for boxing day but I am not staying the night in horrible hard single beds in a place i feel uncomfortable. Now I have a ten pound room 20 miles away and feel happy :-D

The family rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed which pulls out to put 2 people on...If you said it was for a family of 3 or 4 you should be ok...I stayed at birmingham with my 2 children and there was plenty of room
