  • This is such a great post! Managed to get 5 nights in a family room in central Glasgow in the run up to Christmas for £50! My mum is really chuffed - we seldom all go together as her flat is too small so this will make her Christmas.

Can anyone suggest a good place to be for New Years Eve, we are in the Midlands and would like to take advantage of New Years Eve Travelodge £10 rooms?
  • Thanks so much to OP. We have managed to get two nights over new year for central Southampton. Saves us camping on mates floor.

    Bargain!

I booked a double room (as that was all that was available) but would have preferred a family room as there are 2 of us plus a small child. The small child can easily bunk up with us, we don't mind, but does anyone know if the staff note numbers or will object to 3 people in a double room? I am assuming they won't even notice???

you will find that the sofa in the room has a pull out bed underneth.

I thought that was only in the family rooms they have a sofa, otherwise what's the point in having family rooms and double/twin rooms?

Does anyone know how far the Edinburgh Dreghorn hotel is from the city centre? I was thinking of booking it along with a cheap meal deal in town, but was wondering how much it would be in a taxi to get back to the hotel?
    Thanks!

Probably £10 - £12 as taxis are quite expensive, however you can get a number 16 bus from Dreghorn to the city centre.
