If you mix white and wholemeal flour. What setting would tou put the machine on, as there is a difference between 4 hours for white and 5 for wholemeal.
I use the wholewheat setting. My instruction book (2 yrs old) has recipes for 70% wholemeal and 50% wholemeal on page 15 and both say use the wholewheat setting.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place please feel free to move if needed.

My OH was being really helpful and did the washing up whilst I was at work, problem was he washed my breadmaker pan in the bowl as though it was a normal bowl. All the paperwork says not to submerge the pan in water so what problems can I expect when I next use the pan? if any.

He is getting a bit ar*y with me even though I haven't got funny about it, he wasn't to know how to wash it as it is never usually around when he is doing the washing up (a rarity in itself ).

So can anyone put both our minds at ease that he hasn't done any permanent damage. I have only just got back into making my own bread and had forgotten how much I enjoyed it.

    Thanks for reading.

I suppose it will be fine if dried thoroughly. I think the no washing thing is mostly that you'll scratch the non-stick.

Says something similar on my slow cooker - think it's more a "don't leave it to soak" rather than don't give it a quick slosh round. Most of the bowl is glazed, but a ring round the bottom isn't, so I'm assuming it is A Bad Thing if it sits in water and could possibly suck some in through the unglazed bit (and then crack when the trapped water heats up).

If you have any worries, could always put the bowl upside down in a warm oven to dry out..?

Gosh - didn't know you weren't supposed to submerge the pan, Have been washing it up with everything else for over three years! What's more I quite often put it to soak!

I haven't had any problems because of doing so, at all...............(maybe there will be now I know:rolleyes:)
