My funding has been allocated!! OMG im so happy!!0
-
Well my estate agent STILL hadn't mentioned that my top offer was to include some furniture. Hounded them today, got a meeting with the seller on Monday to discuss what he'll let me have, and what he'll sell me. Really annoyed, as now it probably looks to the seller like I'm trying to get more out of them than originally agreed on. The fact is that was part of my offer, that was just never conveyed to the seller.

No post. I rang them yesterday and they said mine hadnt been allocated yet and would be done today. Phoned today and they said its been allocated and letter will be in post tonight. They read me off the address of the apartment im buying and said the percentage of what they are giving me. Im so relieved!0

Thank you. The cut off point was wednesday for w.mids and my email just made it!! Ive had such a nightmare if youve read all my previous posts. Just so glad I didnt give up. I think my work colleagues think im a bit crazy as I had threatened to jump out the window a few times when things werent going right but nevermind. Luckily im buying a new build apartment so there is no chain and my uncles colleague is doing all the legal side. Hopefully other than the waiting for paperwork etc im hoping that things will go ok. Got the valuation to do but I offered 10k lower than asking price so should be alright. Im so excited to be moving out after 26 years!! Ill miss my parents but im too old to still be living at home especially when my 23yr old sister doesnt live there anymore.0

I turn 33 next week, and this will be my first place! Well, of my own anyway, rented various places since I was 20. Also had a few speedbumps along the way so far, but will see what happens. Postal strike means my mortgage docs are now prob gonna be sat in a depot til tuesday0

Miss 26 - I wish you luck. New builds can throw up dodgy valuations but I am sure that you will be fine having offered under the asking price. When is it booked for? I had to get mine done before the funding was secured, or at least I think I did?!
Tek-monkey - There's nowt wrong with renting into your 30s, everyone seems to be doing it these days. At least you can say you've paid your dues and thoroughly deserve a place of your own now!0 -
Tek-Monkey - I would never be able to afford to rent on my own. Ive never wanted to live with anyone, im not very tolerant of people lol. I struggle with 1 weeks holidays away with friends. This was the only way id be able to live on my own. My sister rents in the area where ive bought, so at least shes on hand. Its about 25 mins away from where I live now.
Superfran- I know what you mean about new builds. They have put their prices up recently as well so that means the market is picking up. But like you say ive gone in less than what was asked and its the show home too. They are not leaving any furniture just basic fixtures and fittings. May take pictures and mirrors off the walls before valuers come in!! No the valuation happens shortly from what co-op were saying. I wouldnt have been happy getting that done before funding as it was all very up in the air.
Thanks everyone!

Our solicitor definitely said we could exchange and complete on the same day and said the rules were 'flexible' but as we decided to have a three week gap I'm not sure exactly what it would have involved.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member No.11.
