Hey
Haven't posted on here for a while.... the majority of this year has been gambling free... i did have a small blip where i managed to spend £5 playing online bingo which i used to really like but after one game i was so fed up and disappointed with myself i closed it and for the life of me i can't remember the name of the site, user id or password so can't even block it.
I haven't really thought about gambling for a while (well since the bingo blip) but have taken all necessary precautions and have had the block put on laptop and home pc so no way i can do it now. All emails i get sent straight to the spam folder so don't see them now.
I have become slightly obsessed with farmville on facebook and while its taking up alot of my time its not gambling so if it keeps me from spending any money its time well spent.
I have come to the conclusion over the last few months that i must have a highly addictive personality but as long as im not gambling that is the main thing.
Congrats Cantcope on your engagement.... have you started your wedding plans yet? Im also engaged now and am getting married in Sept 2011 which is where my focus should be at the moment anything that takes my mind of gambling is a good thing.
I do find that now when im watching tv and the sponser for the programme im going to watch is a gambling / betting company i feel disgusted and the majority of the time i end up changing the channel rather than watch it. I do not want to fall of the wagon (so to speak) again.
Just for today I WILL NOT GAMBLE

Hi,
yes i've beenchecking the forums. We are very lucky that my Dad is paying for most of our wedding. We just need to save for mens suits, rings, registrar, honeymoon, gifts and we are helping dad out by putting a grand behind the bar.
We are in the process of getting rid of our cds through music magpie today to put some extra in the "pot"Last bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -
Hi, I would like to introduce myself - I like to do online gambling and I think it is turning into a habit
I downloaded something to block sites for a free 30day trial (thought I found it on here, but couldn't find it again as I looked through links!!) I unfortunately used my bf's comp yesterday and spent £100
Gutted - I didn't have mine, so took advantage. Am going to make the effort now, am about £6k in debt which is horrendous for me, moving in with bf at beginning of next month, he doesn't know how much my debts are, thinks they are about half what they are. but my wages will go up, and my outgoings will go down so I am planning to be debt free by June next year (I hope sooner). Really going to make the effort now but I need your support. Started by ebaying, amazon etc to make extra cash. Look forward to hearing all your ideas.

Hi bigbeff and welcome to thread. Well done on firstly recognising you have a problem. Sometimes thats the hardest part. Secondly you want to do something about it.
Does your bf know? Maybe you could tell him and ask him to put a block on his pc for you? If you explain how much you want to move in with him but have a problem you'd like his support that you have already made steps on to deal with. you may be surprised at how much he respects you for dealing with it.
Give all the websites you use a call. You can ban yourself for anything from a year to life.
To help paying off some debt i sold lots of things on ebay. Clothes i hadnt worn for a year, old broken bits of gold jewellery, and i also did a big bootsale.
This will not only help you clear debt but also be like a fresh start. Out with the old and in with the new when you move in.
Feel free to post as much as you like on here. Also try and find something else constructive to do in the times when you feel like gambling. Usually stressful or boring times x
Post again later and let us know how you've done today. Just take it one day at a time for now xLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -
