Hi Boney
You can expect to feel welcome, like you belong. You'll feel like you aren't alone and meet people with the same problems as you.
You dont have to speak, that's entirely up to you but I can guarantee it will make you feel better.
You can expect lots of advice, some you'll like, some you won't but it will be given by people who know that by doing as they say, you wont gamble.
Take a deep breath, you've got nothing to lose by going to a meeting.
Good luck and let us know if you go and how it went xLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -

Crossed my mind a couple of times but that was it! Wasn't really tempted to go in and gamble my life away like always!!
Walked past bookies and didn't go in to try my luck! [I know if I go in I will come out with nothing, so I best stay away!!]

Good to hear from you George, I've wondered where you've been.
Glad to see everyone's staying strong.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Thinking of attending a meeting this Friday. What can I expect? I speak in public as part of my job but not on topics like this!
try and make the effort boney, go with an open mind, you will get lots of support and advice from people just like you, some of them further into their recovery and maybe some of them just starting their gamble free life.
believe me, life is better without gambling. ive been tempted lately but my kids future is keeping me strong, all my energy is going into renting a new property and making sure its clean and a home from home for the kids.
trying to sort my debts out as well, written to creditors offering full and final payments just hope they will accept as my finances will seriously reduce in the next few weeks when renting and paying maintenance, leaving me with nowhere near the £300 i currently pay on my DMP. slightly worried and scared by it i have to admit.
i wont gamble my way out of the difficulty thats for sure.
im up early as i cant sleep and just told myself that today
I WILL NOT GAMBLE0 -

Hi KPR,
Well done on not gambling. Do your urges to gamble coincide with payday?
Just remember that by gambling you will not achieve anything but misery. You are doing so well, keep it up xLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0
