I'm doing fantastic.
Really have my head screwed on now.
As you can see from my signature I have reduced my debt down by £800 in two months and that is on my single wage and the slight increase in Tax Credits.
Has really opened up my eyes to see exactly how much my ex was costing me per month. When I think that I would spend my wages, his wages, tax credits and still be in debt at the end of the month. Sometimes in worse debt than I started.
But no more. On the 27th of this month I'll be paying off my council debt. I'll also be able to pay some money into my (very poor) savings account.
Then from April I'll be overpaying on the mortgage loan to get rid of that.
If I can continue the way I am I could be debt free by 31st December and mortgage free before I am 45.
My ExOH actually gave me some money this month which has helped. He gave me an amount for maintenance for son and gave me some extra to put towards the debts. So a big Yeah :T to him. Long may it continue
Well done to everyone for staying on the path. May the path take you through some interesting places and show you some interesting sights.0 -
I'm still struggling - but still paying down the debt.
Boredom is my enemy.0 -
you need to find something to do TMoose. Good that your debts are decreasing though. It's hard to fill the void but in time you'll find other distractions.xx
Brilliant news TB so lovely to hear. Just think of New Years eve 2009. A brand new beginning with no debt
Personally i've had a !!!! day. My agency messed my pay up so i'm short this week. need to chill out and get it all off my chest at the meeting tonight.
Have a great gamble free weekend everyone xxLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -
hi everyone. quick bump back to the top to check how everyones doing. all ok here no worries with cheltenham. starting to come to terms with some of my demons from the past. thought about medication but ive got the will to deal with it myself.
havent gambled today or the past 7 months, so all good

Hi everyone. That's fantastic Riquel. 7 Months!!! think of how much you would have lost in that time x have a pat on the back from me
all ok here. went to my meeting last night. was a struggle as i have a broken arm in plaster so hurt to drive but it wouldnt have stopped me gambling so it wont stop me getting to my meetings either. (fell down the stairs)
I picked up a copy of new life there last night. It's a book full of stories by GA members and made a brilliant read. For anyone that's feeling alone i'd recommend reading the stories on the website if you dont go to meetings. They can be so inspiring.
Turns out work hadnt messed up my wages. The agency have decided to change the way we are paid for holiday meaning i wont get a full days pay anymore when i take a day off!!! which means i now cant afford to take time off as i only just manage to pay my bills on a full week. dreading the bank holidays when i have no choice but not to work.Last bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -
Hi guys
I'm doing away okay. No gambling, just wishing i had more money/security - probably the same as a few million other people right now.
Brother has finally paid back all the money i loaned him (from this time) so at least i won't need to worry about that.

Oh, dear I really can't cope anymore. No, seriously.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
