hI everyone, sorry haVENT been around had a few tinterweb problems.

CC - well done for holding the fort, youre a star.

news here is divorce is going through, yep thats where gambling can take you, no longer live with my kids and my partner couldnt trust me. Gambling wrecks families and takes lives.

Just passed 3 years without a bet, still in debt but that debt is coming down if i still gambled i wouldve lost everything including total self respect.

keep posting everyone, today i havent gambled, tomorrow i have a plan on how to get through the day, keeping busy and focussed on the important things in life and thats my lovely children

Hi all, I am new to this bit! Most of my debts ARENT due to gambling, but a few are and its starting to get well out of hand.

I go back to University today with little money to survive on ( though my rent is paid, i have food in the cupboard and i have my bus pass so i can go to uni, have a roof over my head and food in my stomach!) due to my gambling. I figure today is the best day to start afresh.

I was thinking of starting a blog, documenting how i get on. I want to give up so much I realise now if i carry on i'll just keep losing money and thats no good for me. The next few months will be hard, but i know i have early assignments so plenty to keep myself occupied.

I cant win, cos i never stop!.

Welcome twirly! This is definately the place to get support. I'm so pleased you've realised your problem relatively early because as you can see by other people's posts it can lead to massive debt, relationship problems and depression. If you need any specific advice don't be afraid to ask - everyone on here is really friendly and we're all in the same boat just some are more upstream than others!!!

I am now at Uni, i have taken out the money I need for the week (a limited budget!) and hidden my bank card. Blocked gambling sites through my uni filter and met my new flat mates.

Im ill today, which doesnt help and slightly home sick. I go home every weekend for work so it only a case of just getting used to being back at uni and then ill be fine!

I just want to try and post on here every day. because whilst i am posting on here i am not gambling

Hi Twirly, welcome to the thread.

You have made the best decision of your "new" life. Life can be truly wonderful without gambling in it. Why not tell your new flat mates? You dont have to tell them you have a problem, just that you dont gamble and want nothing to do with it. That way they wont (hopefully) drag you anywhere that would put you at risk. Bingo, Poker, dogs etc.....it only takes a simple thrill of winning to get you back to it.

I wish you well, it sounds like you have made some good progress already post on here, get involved at uni and with your new flat mates. Great distraction for you.

Today has been a great day for me. Hubby and I designed photostorybooks for our parents and we've been totally absorbed in it so i havent reuined my diet snacking yet...hehe

Thank you I get paid the 30th september and thats when i start making dents on my debts (all of them!)

I havent gone out tonight, which means ive saved money straight away! I feel rotton, i dont have the energy to gamble right now! All i wanna do is sleep!!

I have eaten so much sweets today where i do feel well lol. Sleep after xtra factor i think lol. Sorry i rambling!
