It shows that the house forum is not moderated, otherwise Carolt would have been banned months ago.
Hold on to your hats....
Much as I agree carolt, as is often said, is bitter (etc) to say she needs banning is just rubbish.... IMHO.
She certainly twists what people say.
She certainly causes some heated arguments with her blinkered and one sided view of things.
She won't accept anything which falls outside of that which she believes.
All of this is more than obvious to those who've seen any number of posts from her.
Does that mean she should be banned though? I thought it was abuse that got you banned?
Is she out and out abusive?
No. Not really.
It's not against the rules to twist what people say, nor is it against the rules to counter post, with others or not, against differing points of view.
I prefer it with carolt around. She posts some interesting stuff but occasionally gets carried away. On those occasions it's easy enough to put things in perspective, and usually in the process show carolt up for the bin-lid banging, wild haired woman she can, occasionally, be.
Oh and like dudleyboy said... (ok I'm paraphrasing) ... sometimes it's good to have some reasoned debate..... and sometimes it's good to get the goat of "the righteous" and watch them squirm rather than admit a mistake.0 -
The same could be said of people whose opinions were ridiculed by the masses prior to Autum 2007, don't you agree?
Sentiment has turned due to the REALITIES, there a few Bulls left - the deluded and the devious.
Pre 2007, Bears were bullied and ridiculed. Now, due to REALITIES, the deluded or devious are treated with the contempt they deserve. Thta's life Broders.
What are your thoughts on the near-futre housing market, is now a great time to buy?anger, denial, acceptance

Nice on JB I am glad you are not one of the bullies that are on here.0 -

Not interested in the market at the moment, i am more interested in the member who was bullied off the forum today which you seem to condone?0 -
Rubbish.
You're immersed in a World of irrelevance. This site and sub-forum is about education.
It is the fact that the REALITIES of the market don't fit with your wishes and ill-timed house purchase that irks you my transparent friend.anger, denial, acceptance

I must admit Brodders (alias Dan?) has a point. When I first came here, must be a few weeks ago now, I was convinced that building a BTL empire was the way forward. I had mortgages arranged, properties chosen, and all was set. I think I made a first tentative post to find out if anyone could advise me further. Well, I was a bit surprised by the reaction I must say. Post after post came at me, with facts and figures, threats and insults until I could hardly type for shaking. My health suffered, couldn't concentrate at work, even took to self abuse again.
Suffice it to say that after this level of attack by the killer bears I decided to shelve my plans for the future, sell my house, get divorced, take up smoking and reinvent myself as a bear.
And now life is good once more...

Believe it or not, this thread was not intended to reignite the...... let's say, 'debate'. I was merely noting the change in sentiment and tone of posts since the drop in house prices, and the health of the economy generally, became a statistical reality.
I understand why people want to fight about it... I would probably be bitter if I paid 300% more on a house I bought last summer than I needed to and saddled myself with that debt for the rest of my life. I'm a typical HPC'er because I want a bargain, not a soul-crushing debt, what's so wrong with that? That's why poundland is so successful.
On the other hand, I believed that whilst house prices were rising disproportionately to any other economic factor that a plateau and then a decline would come. Why? Because the economy is, and always has been, cyclic.
Anyway, the point being, apologies for reigniting the very thing that I had observed had apparantly ceased.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -

How can buying a home ever be ill-timed? I bought in December last year when the market was halfway down? It was my 5th house in 15 years. You think i thought i was buying a house at the bottom of the market? You are very aggressive aren't you rover? What's wrong with you?0 -
Not at all aggressive. I use the push/pull philisophy. Whichever is most effective. Not going to bed then ?anger, denial, acceptance
