Does anyone ever think " I could do that job if only...." Especially on airside jobs. My advice is to phone and negotiate with the company. You could say " I saw on the job board that the job at Blah airport is still not done, if you reimburse me the price of a flight (this has to be very cheap) I could cover that." You dont have to fly out do you? It gets you past security for the shop. I,ve done this recently with a £5 flight for two jobs in one airport. The lovely lady put £2.50 on each job and Bob is indeed, my auntie. Havent done the jobs yet though, hope they let me out again lol.

ELLIE: big stretch up .....and down. Big stretch up.....and down. No luck! have a couple of gins..lol.

  • You can say the name of the company - then the experienced MSers can tell you if the company is ok to work for.

    The co is GFK.
  • I think gfk are one of the best with lovely staff. Having said that, it's usually best as a beginner to reduce your risk by getting practice on jobs that you couldn't actually lose on. All I can say is read your brief thoroughly, order/buy the right item, ask the right questions, get timings right and check left and right! It soon becomes second (ish) nature!

Sinders you're wrong - it soon becomes first nature - you end up checking the place you're not shopping out, then worrying why you're there!
  • Well, off to London in a few hours and as well as 2 free breakfasts at my hotels, I am going to a sandwich shop, a pub and a sushi outlet all courtesy of those lovely people at RE. Only pooey thing is having to lug my laptop and paraphernalia with me to do my reports on time...but needs must and all that!!

I dont want to turn down my first assignment in case i dont get offered anymore is this likely to happen and i wonder why the co in question would give a newbie a job where they have to fork out such a large amount of money to buy the product.Any ideas.Cheers

Hi Kitekat, what kind of job is it? Obviously, don't give the name of the shop, just the type. We might be able to advise you then. I've never had any problems with GFK.
