Just a warning about Kern Scheduling.

I did a job where I had to ask some questions and then get the salesman to get the items out of a locked display cabinet so I could look at them closely.

I went in and there were two staff members talking and both ignored me and continued talking. I had to interrupt and ask for help. The man obviously couldn't be bothered to help me, but I tried and asked the questions and tried to get a conversation going. Then I asked him to get the stuff out and he asked if I was buying today. I said I was just thinking about it, so he said no he couldn't get the stuff out unless I was going to buy it today. Then he started talking to his colleague again and ignoring me, so I left.

I've now been told by Kern that I will not be paid because I didn't handle the goods.

So always take a hammer with you on a Kern job, so if this happens to you, you can vault over the counter and smash the cabinet open, so you can handle the goods and claim your pay

They contacted me the other day but I couldn't do the Jewellery shop as it was too far away - I'm glad now, just in case the same thing happened!

The more Mystery Shops I do though, the more I realise that shops within the same chain of companies can vary dramatically - which is why they need us!

I want to be "Tilly" now! - OK, it's the dogs name, but she is female!

I just changed my signature, but presume there's more to it than that.

    Will look into it later!

Becles that is totally unfair. If you do everything in your power to follow the brief yet are thwarted and obstructed by difficult staff I would say that your report is even more valuable to the company. I know you're a much more experienced shopper than me, but this has really got my back up and if it were me I think I would complain loudly - maybe put in a claim with the small claims just to show them? Have you thought whether there is any way to take it further? Perhaps if you'd told the staff you were a mystery shopper he might have got the damn*d jewels out - but that's against their rules, isn't it? I mean, they can't have it both ways.

I messed up a gap pizza job, yes i was that thick ! oh well, I didn't order starter, even though i emailed them to clarify, the instructions are SO unclear. Was suppose to be pizza and starter OR more pricy pizza and starter, the instructions looked like it was just the more expensive pizza and I thought seeing as the reimbursement didn't even cover the pizza, didn't think I needed the starter. We live and learn ! I always say it but I'm going to do better paid jobs from now on, just sometimes the temptation of a calorie filled pizza is to much. Thats so unfair Bec's, shall we get t-shirts with "i'm a mystery shopper , do as I say" and we can weat them under our coats !!

I've complained about the job that went wrong, but I haven't reached a satisfactory conclusion yet.
Here I go again on my own....
  • I would pursue that with Kern for sure\!
