I agree - it' so infuriating. We fork out good money to get a mac (which is far superior to any pc I've ever used), and then find half the bloomin' websites aren't compatible. I blame the entire rest of the world - us Mac users are in the right and they are all wrong!
  • Totally agree there Scaredy Cat lol
But in all seriousness Mac's really are such better computers than pc's. I have never experienced problems with this in 4 years whereas I went through pc's left right and centre before

What do you mean 'in all seriousness'??? I was serious!!! :rotfl:

I only have the Mac mini - have wanted a mac for years but could never afford one. I'm still finding my way around as I'm not really very techie (I struggled on a pc, so no surprise there) - but my Mac is streets ahead of PCs! We went through about 4 PCs in as many years - they just kept crashing and there was always somethng going wrong... and they were soooooooo slow. Now I know why Mac lovers refer to it as Windoze!!!

For some of my reports I have to borrow my son's pc and it is such a chore to use!

Hi, I just wanted to let you know I spoke to Bare about this months payments and apparently it depends on who you bank with, the best thing to do it to check with your bank on how long it usually takes to receive a payment from Belgium. But it should be in our accounts today, or tomorrow!

....I can't be bothered to call my bank but I guess we will have to wait till tomorrow. I'm just glad I'm not waiting on a flight payment, I dont think I could handle it!
  • Does it matter if your signed up to more than one company?
I signed up to a few over the weekend and stated i did not work for any other MS companies. I have now been accepted by the first place and have accepted my first job, but am unsure whether i should alert other companies that said they would take a few days to get back to me?
  • Just wondering, do companies like GfK or GR ever pay mileage if you go out of your way? So far I've only accepted local jobs, and distant (ish) ones where I felt the fee justified it. I mean you just accept a 10-12 mile round trip as part of the job, don't you?

I've seen TNS offer mileage but that seems to be specified at the outset. I've seen people talk about Gap increasing the fee if they are desperate. What about the others?

I don't know what the etiquette is, but I did the same thing - I applied for loads at once and of course had to say NO, I don't work for any other companies - because at the time, I didn't. I've now had work from a handful of companies but I never went back and corrected my applications. I think they only want this to back up your application, but if it's well written you should be ok anyway - I think they just want to be reassured you can write a report and in a lot of cases they get a sense of that from the way you have completed your application form anyway.
  • Good stuff! Many thanks for the reply! Its my first assignment for grassroots on monday!

One more quick question.... apologies as its bound to have been asked 1000s of times!

Is there any format or template for reports? I write reports for a living, but have no idea the type of detail etc required for something like this?
  • Hi happy shoppers!!

I have just had a nightmare with my first GFK job. Yesterday I did a phone shop, I started to enter my results yesterday evening but every time I pressed the 'next' button it kept taking me back to the log in page, so I would go back to entering my results only to find that they had not been saved so I would have to redo them again. This when on for several hours and by mid night I had had enough and desided to try again this morning and email them to explain what was happening. Well I managed to complete my results only to find when I submitted them that it had been deallocated arhhhhh!!!!!
I have let them know what had happened but I feel that as this was my first job with them then this has left a bad impression of me. I dont want them to think that I am unreliable.
    Sorry for going on
    Peridot.
