  • Are Amber Arch known for messing people around? I am newly registered with them - got the standard jobs email yesterday and replied within minutes saying which jobs I could do. Waited and waited for a reply. Finally got a response this morning saying I could do the 3 I had asked for. I replied immediately saying that's great, and asking for clarification of the job date.

Now, I've waited all day checking my emails and finally she's come back and said I can do them on a particular date... then a minute later she emails again saying oops, these don't need doing now.

Hah! She's given them to someone else, I bet! Now I feel I've been messed around because I replied to her emails immediately and she told me I could have the jobs this morning - now she's finally come back and said I can't. Not impressed. Do they make a habit of this or am I just unlucky?

Scat - I've always found AA to be really good, so maybe really is just a mistake. Keep trying they are good payers (prompt and fair pay)
  • Thanks Tigergold. Am just feeling a bit peeved.

I got messed around by them. I took on a load of jobs miles away from home on the promise I'd get some closer to home "next time".

Due to some problems that were not my fault, they said they were going to withold payment and I had to argue to get them to pay what was due. I never got offered anymore work after that and I regret putting myself out on the promise of more work.
Here I go again on my own....

I don't know if you can get a refund or not Sinders, but by coincidence I did the travel insurance one a week before I did the flight, and I emailed to see if I could actually use the policy, as I really was going to Paris for a few days & that is the actual scenario you've got to use anyway isn't it?!

I never heard back from them, so just took the insurance with me anyway.
You can eat the burgers, and keep the stamps or whatever else you buy, so don't see why you can't use the insurance.........!

I'd ask at the P.O. & see what they say. I've hung on to the paperwork along with the questionnaire as per usual.

Maybe I should have claimed for my broken toe!

Thanks for that. The AA person did email me that she will have more jobs in the future... but I just may not be available then! These jobs are in a town I generally never go to because I hate it - all the car parks charge and I just don't like the town centre. Anyway I am going there for another job for a company I DO like, and thought it would be good to add some extra work on the day. However, I doubt I'd go into that town just for AA work - they don't pay enough for that!!!

Being messed around like this on my first contact with them doesn't exactly make me feel like putting myself out for them next time!

Has anyone been paid by bare yet??? I'm getting quite frustrated as the amount showing on my page isn't even right, so I want to wait for it to come into my bank before I complain!
