    Hi all

havent done many shops lately as it's nigh on impossible with the kids in two, but i did squeeze one in the other day that said i could take them.

But i have a question re the tax side...can i offset the cost of the kids entry fee against the job or only my own when i do my returns? (they are only reimbursing mine, but by the time we had the requsite visit to both the accompanying shop AND cafeteria and kids being kids and mums being soft i made a small loss!) still made a cheap day out!:T

Nope, as only you were required to do the job. If it stated you had to bring the kids along then yes, but in this case no I'm afraid :)

    i'm offically annoyed then! lol

it said I COULD take my kids then proceeded to ask how i felt about how the kids were treated and their ages. not fair :(

better find them receipts then and see how much of it i can offset for little ole me...

    thanks roxy!

Normally, I would agree with Roxy's reply. If you took the kids for your own convenience & they weren't part of the assignment, then it wouldn't be acceptable for you to offset the cost of their entry etc against your tax.

However, as the questionnaire included details about their experience I think you would be justified to offset the cost of at least one child against your tax.

I appreciate that you weren't required to take the children, but as you did & this formed part of your results it wouldn't be unreasonable, in my opinion.

It's highly unlikely that your tax records will ever be inspected so in all probability the tax man won't ever know. But just in case, I'd keep copies of the receipts along with a copy of the questionnaire which shows that questions were asked about your children.

The whole question of allowable expenses is a grey area & as long as you can justify your figures you'll be fine. :D

I think its big pizza, salad and 1 desert???(thats from my memory so don't take much notice really :rotfl:)
Just make sure you pay notice to the crust as I ordered a deep one and that was only allowed in medium

this is the delivery scenario, not eat in.
for some reason i never ordered the big pizza as always thought I needed the starter and it would have been way over the reimbursement. Or its changed since the last time i did one

Ah that would be the difference, I think it was a few quid over when I did the eat in but as DH would normally eat a whole pizza on his own I have to order large  Not doing them anymore tho as he likes ham and pineapple ;)

I did quite well with the pizza jobs this month and bagged a local visit and a delivery. Then realised the delivery was the same day as an eat in chicken place lol! DH will be happy, he'll eat anything :D

Then double checked my 2 'spicy food' elec jobs and they definitely say you need a quote so I've cancelled one & think I'll cancel another. I'd rather do the standard scenario and get a purchase fee. Far easier!

I've had that once catwoman and it was just to let me know that there were two coffee shops close to each other and to make sure I knew which one to visit.
    HTH :)
