Bec's - glad it went ok for you today, it can be hard on little ones but its important they understand these things.xx.
S_cat - can't help you as not done one of these, but this is the exact reason why I don't do phone shops or electrical shops as its usally like pulling teeth trying to get anything out of these people. My 1st ever assignment was a phone shop, didn't get the quote and practically had to write a novel with what happened when I was in the shop.0 -

You are also to assess whether the staff member voluntarily provides a quote for “whateverhappens” - if not, wait until the end of the interaction and actively ask for one. You will be required to submit this quote with your evaluation for validation purposes - see Proof of Visit section below.
Also, hello everyone. I've been mystery shopping for about a year and I'd love to join you here - you all seem so nice :A
Not the spicy one! The other one! My notes definitely do NOT have that paragraph in! It does say I should ask about the product support if they do not volunteer the information, but it doesn't say ask for a written quote.0 -

It was like pulling teeth - I had to say I didn't have a clue and what product I wanted and what would they recommend, and even then I didn't get a recommendation! As for the product support, I had to raise that issue myself, and I even had to ask for a leaflet - I mean how far are you supposed to go??? I felt like I had to lead her by the hand. If it was that hard to get a leaflet, how can I realistically expect to get a written quotation??? Anyway, the assignment notes definitely didn't ask for a quote. I've got them open on screen now.0 -
Sorry to continue the rant, but I just have to add this...
When I asked for th leaflet about product support the girl showed me (eventually) the page where it says how much the monthly cost is, and it's a set amount depending on how much the product itself cost.
I'm just wondering how subtle that would have been, she's showing me the printed leaflet saying it costs x amount each month... and then I say... "Er... could you give me a print out or a written quote for that please?'
Just give me one of those I AM A MYSTERY SHOPPER t-shirts that everyone keeps going on about.0 -
Has anyone else noticed that the number of Mystery Shop assignments seems to be less and less each month?
I agree with the comments regarding wearing a Mystery Shopper T Shirt. I am waiting for the slap on the face:eek:, when I look at a females chest to read her name badge that is usually in small print, that a quick glance cannot read:DTo Dare is To Do:beer:0 -
Having one of those days, when I got onto RE there were 3 phone shop jobs and when I clicked two disappeared. Looks like I will have to be superquick on these next time.0

Mine was for the spicy one unfortunately but I didn't get a quote either. When the SA eventually brought me over the leaflet I got him to write on the back the amout it would cost for the "insurance". I just scanned that and sent it. No queries so far (fingers crossed).0 -
Well, I was offered regular work my one MS company after doing similar jobs for them a few weeks ago. That is when the problems began...
A few days ago I got an e-mail saying there would be an online training session - effectively a conference meeting via computer. I was asked when I was available and e-mailed them my availability. Clearly they did not read it as they arranged the conference meeting outside my availability time, that meant I had to re-schedule other work.
Come the date and time of the promised conference meeting nothing happened - I did not receive the promised e-mail inviting me to the conference - I sat at my computer for an hour pressing send/receive wondering where the e-mail was.
I contacted the the MS company and received a call back saying the conference meeting had been cancelled - well that was nice of them to tell me after the event! I was told that a training job would be issued online within 20 minutes but this never happened for another 19 hours!
So, I start to do the training job...
I immediately realised there were inconsistencies in the scenario and other info supplied so I rang the MS company trying to contact the person repsonsible. The instructions said to contact the author if there was any problem but the author gave no name or phone number!
In all, I made five phone calls but staff struggled to transfer calls and I was repeatedly cut off. On the fifth call I was told that the person was off sick that day but he would call me the following day!
Come the following day - no phone call so I call the company and they say they will leave a message for him to call me. Result? No call! So, I call again and get connected but he cannot hear me! So I call again!!!
This time I do get to speak to the right person and I explain the problem. Without thinking, he immediately changes the scenario but now it makes even less sense than before!!! I average over 90% with this particular company and I will not prejudice my work by attempting to do work that I cannot understand and the scheduler clearly does not understand either.
Some of you will know what company and job I am taking about. If so, did you have a similar experience?0
