But is it possible to send free texts via the web direct from my computer? Has anyone any advice? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi there
Sent my text yesterday and got confirming reply. Yet to receive confirmation that free texts have been added. Does anyone know how long this usually takes?
Thanks

I'm an Orange contract customer and I'm already paying for text bundles as part of my contract (I get 120 a month for somewhere in the region of £6). If I was to try for these free texts, would Orange let me do it and would it affect the text budle I already have? (120 texts as it is is nowhere near enough!) ::)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Just phoned Orange Customer Services (150) and the women I spoke to said she hadn't heard of this promotion. Everyone's getting free texts here right?

No, I didn't get any free texts.
I'm an Orange OVP Virgin tariff customer.
I sent a text to get my free SMS, got the confirmation back & started texting reely. Then my bill came thru a few days ago and I have been charged for every SMS I have sent.
Anyone else had this? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

yes you can, and the best way to do this, is to get yourself a free program for microsoft windows called GenieTexter availaible at http://www.genietexter.co.uk it lets you sign up at various free SMS websites, and keeps all your login details in one place, saving you having to remember the webites URLs and usernames and passwords, and lets you send SMS via those websites, without actually having to visit them again once you have signed up with them. It also lets you have a single addressbook which works across all the sites, and saves you having to remember lots of mobile numbers as you can just enter the name of the person you want to send the SMS to and it replaces it with their number (if you have entered this info into the addressbook that is) Its got a lot of other nice features too, too many to go into here. Check it out for yourself
Free SMS Sites that you can use with GenieTexter include Orange who offer 30 free sms per month 02 who offer 30 free sms per month and 118888 who offer 10 free sms per day, there are also a lot more free sms sites supported, meaning if you signed up with all of them, you could send over 1200 free sms per month using this program! A saving of approximately £120 per month or £1440 per year! (assuming you normally pay 10p per message that is)0
