Does anyone know if they let you have the 30 free text every month on Orange PAYG or just the first time??

    Pete

just allowed it once, they check to see if you have had it before, or at least they did when I got my 30 free picture messages

    Hi,

When you send the text I believe it probably gets passed to a human being to check if you are eligible for the free text messages. The terms of the promotion state that you can only have the free text messages if you have not sent a text in the last 12 month. The operator will check your account to see if you are eligible and if you have not had it applied then it is probably because they have decided you are not.

It seems that some people have slipped through the net though!

To find out which products you are eligible for a free trial of you can call 343 from your Orange phone.

  • Hi everyone. I have just called Orange for my free texts only to be told as I am on Orange everyday 50 am not eligible for ANY free services from orange. What a liberty. Had my orange contract phone for at least 7 years so they have made a packet out of me!!!! My phone bill comes to £100 + per month but that cuts no ice with orange. Think it is time to move on..... Or has anyone got any ideas for me to save money on my orange bill (Contract)

Orange discontinued Everyday 50 some years back, existing customers were allowed to stay on the package. That's why orange won't give you any freebies. My friend's phone packed up on her and she had to buy a brand new one, if she upgraded and got a free phone she would have to change packages.
You really ought to upgrade to a high user tarriff. How long are you spending on the phone? There's a list of all oranges current packages here. If you see one you like, go into the shop you should be able to get a free(or very cheap) phone for upgrading. The more expensive the package, the better the phone.

I was on Orange and recently moved to 3 (dont care as the underlying network is on O2 and I work in the mobile industry).

I Orange rang to buy out of my contract and asked for my PAC code to transfer my number, even tho Orange say they will not price match any 3 tarriff, they will !

They offered me 750 minutes, any time any network to stay, (aka the three package) Unfortunately I was already out of my 14 day hand back period on my 3 contract so I'm stuck.

But useful news for current Orange customers who want a better deal on Orange.

True they will match 3 if you ask the right people at Orange. Did it for me last August, just had a year of 500 xnet anytime for £25/month.

Free texts from my phone sounds very good, I'll try it. But is it possible to send free texts via the web direct from my computer? Has anyone any advice?

i have just checked in an orange pamphlet that my daughter picked up in the shop yesturday, yes you do get the 30 free texts but you have to contact them at customer services to opt out after month is up, otherwise you get charged £2.00 per month for further texts

I picked up this from a friend.  Texting to a different number.
"If you are on Orange just text the word "text" to 1122 and you will get a text telling you that the free texts will be added soon, and soon you will have a text telling you that they are acvtivated and there you go.

    Enjoy 30 free texts

    Works for PAYG too. "

Don't know how long it lasts.  Didn't see anything about being charged after 1st month.

i just tried this, waiting on my free texts.

is the £2 a month worth cancelling it for? doesn't it make 30 texts a month slightly cheaper anyway. they use text saver bundles which should mean that the £2 covers the cost of 30 texts and saves money too?

i'm slightly confused about this ???
