Free Texts on Orange Contract Phones

If you are on an Orange contract:

30 texts for 30 days - after that you will get put onto a text 30 bundle which costs £2 a month. You can call customer services on 150 at anytime during the free trial and tell them you don't want to be moved onto the chargeable bundle

If you are on Orange PAYG:

When the 30 have run out you will just pay 12p per text as usual.

Oh, and as I mentioned in the PAYG thread, anyone who has any problems with this offer/cancelling the chargeable bundle can e-mail me and I will do my best to help them out with it.

What about if you try to text from abroad? I am going to Rep of Ireland tomorrow and have been told that texts will cost 25p from there to home.

Can I use the 30 free from there too?

I've got an OVP contract (equivalent to Virgin) which usually means I'm not entitled to anything. Orange sometimes phone me to tell me of wonderful offers and when I tell them to pause for breath so that I can tell them what scheme I'm on, they hastily apologise and say that actually, no, I can't have it!

Do orange class it as PAYG or contract?

It is classed as Pay Monthly, the reason you are often not eligible is because it is a discontinued product now.

However, in me experience you should be able to get the try SMS promotion as it is open to all customers.

I'm on OVP line rental as well. Text the number last night, and got a text saying they'll text me for the confirmation when it's ready. Well, i'm more than ready, clearly Orange's not. Still waiting
