Although temps are forecast for 30C plus, real temperatures are 40C plus at the moment with tarmac melting, plastic toys and plastic glasses frames melting too!
We are off there next week, was wondering if anyone had any useful advice to stay fit and safe. Obviously drinking water is going to be important, stay out of the sun most of the day, wear factor 50 sun cream and make the kids wear their hats etc. Anything else to add?

Where are you off to Arlybarly? It really is that hot, has been up to 50C. We've never been in August, probably never will again either lol“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

The official temps you read, like on the weather reports are always taken in the shade.
So when people say 50c, they mean in the sun, because it does make a big difference.
It was 44c in Sharm some days, god only knows what that would have been measured in the sun.
I like the Fetyhie area (Olu Deniz), but was in Bodrum - Turgutreis last year. Where are you both off too?0 -
another tip when its mega hot, if you haven't bought your sun stuff get waterproof. If its waterproof, its sweatproof too.0

            hiya tiff
we are going to marmaris, never been there before but heard its really good.
My mom has been a few times and she doesnt really like the heat that much but she can stand it there so i thought i would be abl;e to as well. Hope i dont live to regret it LMAO.
Where about are you going tiff? x0 -
i was in marmaris in the first 2 weeks of july and the weather was in the 40's every day
hottest day was 45c , it's not as bad you think, just drink plenty of water and limit your time in the sun.
night time was about 29c-30c.
allready looking at going back next year, you'll love it.0 -
Wear clothes. Stupid perhaps, but don't go around in shorts and swimsuit - especially the kids, make sure their shoulders are covered with a t-shirt etc.0

Don't crank the aircon up full when you get back to your hotel, your body cannot keep up with the big changes in temp and you can end up feeling terrible - S&D and wanting the world to end, then when the Doc is called first thing he does is turn aircon off.;)
Take parasols with you for portable shade.
Wearing loose fitting white clothes reflects the heat as well as coering up skin form the sun.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
