Territorially and politically it went into the history books.

I don't understand why something not being a political or administrative region anymore means that it doesn't exist.

Though, Ulster is still an administrative region for many sports, so that argument falls rather flat anyway.

I have not posted this to be a political debate but to beg people to pronounce our lovely provencal name correctly.....I don't do politics!!!!

See.... I could do that, and I'd make me happy (at least if I got to hug who I wanted to ;) ) but I can't see it making them or the wife happy

    I wouldn't say it's becoming a political debate.

And even if it was, there's nothing wrong with that as long as it stays friendly.

As long as you pay my bail, no problem. :p
  • OK, to be honest I don't like using Northern Ireland, Derry or Londonderry because lets people pigeon hole you......wish they would change all these names to something unassociated with the troubles/religion....like SIM city...you know what I mean.

    Call it Stroke City.
  • In the occupied 6 counties:rolleyes:
    :rotfl:

Thats the problem, people immediately pigeon hole you for that sort of thing, although i've never heard of someone being done so for saying norn iron.
Personally I dont like saying Norn Iron, I prefer the full Northern Ireland:T

Not all 'the English' stereotype us! I find that a bit biased tbh.

I dont think saying we come from 'Norn Iron' is going to help us not be stereotyped. Do you?
