Northern Ireland Please

Going to have a rant!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry if i offend but it is not intentional.....

Please, Please Please.................Can we all stop calling Northern Ireland ...NORN IRON. I live in Northern Ireland NOT Norn Iron..... I am NOT a snob i am a citizen of NORTHERN IRELAND. I feel this shortening sounds extremely stupid and as citizens of NORTHERN IRELAND we should be proud and be promoting our little country with the full title.... STAND UP BE PROUD OF OUR COUNTRY NAME.

Ban the NORN IRON title.....thats what i say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......

RANT OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no money saved from it just my SANITY:D

I don't believe anyone has ever been a citizen of Northern Ireland.

Nor is it really a country; it's neither a state nor a nation.

But "Norn Iron" is simply a phonetic spelling of "Northern Ireland" when pronounced in a typical Belfast accent. I do find it annoying, but only because not everyone from Northern Ireland sounds like they're from Belfast, which in my opinion is one of the worst Irish accents there is (sorry guys!).

lol....to be honest, I think the Derry accent is kind of cute. She does sound like she's from a different planet than the rest of Girls Aloud though.

    Takes all sorts I suppose.

Nadine does have certain other desirable....*ahem*...features though! ;)

    Morning people from NORTHERN IRLAND......
I understand that the norn iron thing can be perceived as humourous and that it may be easy to type BUT i neither see the funniness of it and i would rather type out the alphabet than use norn iron ( oh !!!!!! i have just typed it!!!:D). Also i am not from Belfast.

I feel Northern Ireland is a country and we are unique as we are the only country in the world to have 3 different governments (UK, Ireland and USA):D

As for the Londonderry/Derry accent most of it pleasant but like all areas of NORTHERN IRELAND there are some annoying pockets of accent.

I hope all you NORTHERN IRISH people have a good day today.

Because only 6 of the Ulster counties are in Northern Ireland, the other 3 are in the Irish Republic, so that wouldn't be accurate.

Nadine Coyle should come with a muffler, if her voice gets any sharper only dogs will be able to her her. She hurts my ears, bless her.
