Hi Pania, it sounds as if you had sound reasons for turning it down - but how brilliant you were offered it in the first place, it shows the world can be your oyster. And perhaps more opportunities will come out of the dog training course anyway. So all very positive all round.

What a cheek expecting you to attend every social event and spending that much money, also they should have paid for your flight up front rather than the other way round. At least you found out, you were offered the job thus demonstrating that you were the best person regardless of what TB thinks of you.

Good luck with the dog whispering course too. Now if only I had a dog..then I would use Pania The Dog Whisperer:D

Tbh - I am glad you're not going to Malaysia - just think of the flies:rotfl:

I don't think flying all that way for £1250 a month is worth it. Taking such a life changing job would have to mean (for me) a decent return!

I think you've made the right decision - as a fellow doggy person, I'm envious of your course!!

I'm also liking the sound of 'local opportunities ;) ' :rotfl:

local opportunities could have soooo many permutations!! I now know what route i want to follow, dog training (lol to the whisperer horace... and i do travel you know!!!) start my certificate of education ni jan if i can get accepted then get back into a police force as a police dog trainer. stoof mortgages. the training will become a very handy second income initially and will then hopefully built into permanent prospects. what is it they say as one door closes another door opens?

That's better, Pania back on her thread :D
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

Yes, the old risk/reward equation wasn't really adding up for that job.
