    Hi Pania

Just catching up after being away for the weekend (and not well now!), I'm sorry the Malaysia thing didn't work out (I sooooo wanted you to be able to go into TBs office and tell him where to stick his job!), but getting yourself your dog training thingy sounds excellent so

    GOOOOOOOOO PANIA!!

  • Hello Mrs, good to see you back on here and happy with your decision. Can't believe September's come round so fast, only seems like a couple of weeks since you were talking about the doggy course!

sounds like you've made the right decision and as you say based on finances not on what other people have 'advised' you to do. We'll have to pre book your dog whispering services for when we can eventually get out sausage dog, but that it probably a long way off *sob*

Hey Pania - just found your diary (sorreeeeeee - have only been reading subscriptions recently - folks why did noone tell me P had a new diary??!). Sounds like good reasoning on the job front - and I'm the last person who is going to disapprove of going for the dog training option! ;) Ultimately following your dream is the key thing - and I am guessing this is it? Have a fantastic time on the course (you will) and move forward towards your ultimate goals. Go girl. :T

I can't have a dog Pania - I live in a flat and it just wouldn't be fair. Anyway I kind of borrow a dog anyway, when I say borrow I mean that I get bones for it from the butcher. He is a very large and particularly handsome German Shepherd with a nasty bite - he likes women but hates men, he doesn't do strangers either and he is getting on a bit in dog years. Poor thing thinks he is still a spring chicken and he isnt.

Don't get me wrong Jake - is a well behaved and a particularly well-trained dog as his handler (my mate) is an ex police dog handler and Jake is her dog.

I thought that dog whispering is the same as dog training - its getting them to do what you want them to do and not the other way round.

would be for adults. to be a police dog handler you have to have cert ed apparently. :)

That's really interesting but wondering why?? Don't police dog handlers teach dogs not people? Not that teaching qualification is not good thing (and very good if you are doing pet dog training classes where it is 95% about teaching people!) but struggling to think why they require it for police dog handling??
  • when you get started on PTLLS Pania, let me know and I can send you some of my handouts if you want. Looks like i'll be starting CTLLS in September rather than teaching as my numbers are a bit low.

If you're doing DTLLS, are you training others as a course leader? I'll need DTLLS if I want to teach NVQ or GCSE level stuff.
