Hi Pania, I have not been logging on for a while due to a multitude of personal events but I have been trying recently to catch up on what all my fellow DFWers have been up to over the past few months and I would just like to say that although you probably do not reme, ber me in the slightest at all I did PM you a few times in the past and have to say that that such a giving and genuine soul like yours deserves and then some the good fortune that is coming your way. i just wanted to send you my best wishes for great success and happiness in everything that you do and that comes your way in the future.Debt August 2007 - £38,204.58 - Completely Debt Free - May 2008 - Now Proudly Saving.DFW Nerd Number 684 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts:heartpuls Very Proud Aunty Ciara :heartpuls0

Woo hoo Pania, I have only just caught up after being away for a few days.
Now I know its scarey but as I have said before life is too short for what ifs...so you go girl, go to Malaysia and tell your TB to shove his job where the sun don't shine.:j You can always come home again after 6 months if you don't like it and remember they do have the internet out there too so you can keep in touch with all your friends here.
Now Pania...contact them and say "thanks, I would love to work with you, when do I start". Then you can tell that boss of yours that you are not thick or useless because you are starting a new job in Malaysia on higher pay with a house thrown in (don't know if you will have a house but there's no need to tell him otherwise).
Stop !!!!!footing and just go...you know you want to...:D
Love

Hi Pania
I've not been on the boards much so just keeping up with the diaries i had subscribed to. I had thought you were being quiet but i guess i just missed this huge diary.
At this late day there's not much i could or should add re the job offers but just go for what feels right in your gut and what is right for you. Pretty lame advice i know but only you will know what's truely right.
Good luck.0 -

Hi all, yes, sorry i've been doing the MSE equivalent of hiding behind the cushions and scared to come out. I know that so many people would give their eye teeth for the opportunity I had availed to me. But it was financial reasons that eventually made the decision for me.
Basically following conversations with the chap from the company I discussed costs of living etc with him. He stated that they have 3 social events per month and I am expected, as a new member of staff to attend. He told me that I should budget 100 pm for EACH of these events so that i can do everything and not miss out. Also that most people don't cook but buy their food on the hoof. although it is very cheap he said expect to be spending 7-10£ per day on food.
The salary although when grossed up to it's uk equivalent isn't low, as it is tax free i'd be on £1250 per month. my debt repayments alone would be approximately 600, rent approx 400, mobile £40+ saving for a flight home to see parents every so often £50 leaving me £160 for electricity, food, these social events and overpaying my debt.
From these figures it was simply unworkable for me to go for the first 4 months until my commission started coming through. I would be getting further into debt whereas the idea was to go and clear my debts. once my commission came through it would be great but theres no guarantee that would be before the end of the fourth or fifth month.
Also they wanted me to pay for my flight upfront and i just haven't got that money to do so. I have nowhere to borrow it from (esp as folks didn't agree with me going) and was told i'd need a return for visa purposes which is about £600.
s i have gone with preferred option B which is to go for my dog training course.I'm getting half the money for my birthday (next friday peeps ha ha) and paying half my self. course starts weekend of the 6th yippee!!!
I'm not sad (anymore) and i know that i have made a balanced decision on what to do. I'm not staying for any reason other than financial so i know with that in mind any other slightly more local opportunitiesare worth going for.
Right must dash, awaiting a call from tosserboss.... love y'all. P xxxdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
