Fighting Talk. WOW! That scares me!!
Tell me where you are, my friend and I will be VERY happy to oblige.
I would be somewhat humoured to see you take offence.
BTW, I am 6'4" and ex Army.
I can hear you stamping your foot already, !!!!!!!
I'm in Dunfermline.
As this has come from an internet forum, and I've no intention of meeting anybody from on here you're a non-entity to me (not an insult, I'm sure it's the same the other way) so your comments are largely wash over. I don't recall mentioning violence.
If someone took the previous attitude with me in general an argument could well be following. Given the chances are it would be on a social thing (I'm unlikely to get a colleague saying that given my line of work) it's therefore fortunate it was on here and not in person as it would affect the day for whoever was there.
In the event it was at work I would have to be more controlled so there wouldn't really be much I could do but change the subject and mutter under my breath.
As far as someone actually doing the original event goes, when I'm the victim of theft I tend to be less civil regardless of the size of the person. The police, having seen CCTV footage of most my previous actions and have said in every case that I acted legally in the situation. As such I decline to comment further on that matter.
I am confused as to why you would decide to bring the thread back to this issue though when we (myself included with the way I wrote my post) had got back to saying that your idea was a good one. I would have thought you'd want to keep us talking about that.0 -

I might have to try this when I get my new place, seems like a good idea today.
Plus if you can get the bargains at Tesco... think of all the lovely clubcard points!
(I'm really sorry. I stole a bag of penny sweets when I was a kid.)0 -
how many people went into woolworths on the last few days of closing and put the stuff on ebay for much more than they paid.
i once bought a book on amazon for £1.00 and sold it on ebay for £10 when the book was still available on amazon at £1.00. how can that be wrong - people are stupid enough to buy things without shopping around it their own fault.0 -

I don't think anyone has a problem with that aspect - its the taking the items back to the shop if they don't sell on Ebay that seems to have provoked the debate.
What I don't understand is why this old thread has been resurrected?0 -
theres a few ways you can think of this here guys , lets say your really friendly with your corner shop keeper , everyday you go in for bacon and eggs/paper/milk etc , because he's really friendly with you does he lower the price to what he paid for them? no but you know that and it doesnt bother you so why should this idea be any different? if its something like buying 10x michael jackson tickets and selling them 300 quid each that is slightly wrong as youve used the fact you could get them tickets just purely to make money youve bought 10 places someone else could probably just afford and they wanted just one ticket .:jEmpire Stores - [STRIKE]2400[/STRIKE] - [STRIKE]1900[/STRIKE] - [STRIKE]1230[/STRIKE] - [STRIKE]780 [/STRIKE]

Buy things for less and sell them for more - it really works if you have enough time to do it and the serendipidy to know when something is underpriced or will sell for more. I've sold many charity shop bought books that way in the past - unfortunately its become much harder to sell books at a profit with the competition from 1p USA sellers and others seeking to be the lowest price on Amazon. After Amazons fees and postage I started making a loss so had to become much less free purchasing (to the detriment of my local charity shops who had less sales as a result) - Not sure all the grief given and taken here is justified though - some people are more scrupulous than others , some are more desperate than others - if you think its wrong - dont do it. And watch out for the taxman too because buying to sell makes you a trader and at some point Taxman will notice and want a share - Greedy gets.0
