We applied for this on the phone last night. Got cl of 4k, we now have to go into the branch to sign and take ID. we should have the card 10 days later.
A point to note is, I went into the branch to apply in the first place, made a special trip. they don't even have application forms to give out. it has to be online or phone.
not an expert at this. I have done 1 balance xfer to my m&s one card then put it away as advised. but with the HSBC card it say b/t and purchases for 30 days, does this mean I can also spend on it for 30days then put it away.
Sorry if this a a stupid question I just don't want to pay any interest.
Thank you

http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/personal/credit-cards/hsbc-bank-credit-card :
30 days is for BTs only ...0% on purchases for 9 months from account opening.
0% on balance transfers for 9 months, made within 30 days of account opening.0 -
Thanks Grumbler, but me being a "bit thick an all" dose this mean I can spend on my card for 9 months and not pay interest.( not sure at all on how the system works) when I done the B/T to my one card the man advised not to use the card for purchases or I would end up paying interest even if I paid the cost of the purchases each month because the payment is allocated to the 0% amount first.
Thanks michelle0 -
Got a mailshot from HSBC with a pre-populated form. Have signed and returned as seemed like a good deal and still not heard anything from the Post Office regarding my application for their 0% card.MFW 2015 #41 = £20,515/£20,515
MFW 2014 #41 = £26,100/£25,000
MFW 2013 #41 = £10,000/£10,000
Original MF date = May 2036 - MF achieved on 15 June 20150 -
Yes, if you make minimum payments on timeshellyd wrote:... me being a "bit thick an all" dose this mean I can spend on my card for 9 months and not pay interest.
This advice is absolutely correct for a card with 0% on BTs only, not on purchases ...when I done the B/T to my one card the man advised not to use the card for purchases or I would end up paying interest even if I paid the cost of the purchases each month because the payment is allocated to the 0% amount first.0 -
Anyone else received their card yet? was approved and sent back the agreement almost 2 weeks ago. Would be good to hear what CL's others have received.

If I applied by phone,do I get an instant decision?0

When I applied last year, I waited for ages then was told to go into a branch with my passport and was signed up there and then. I'd give them a call 0800 3281278 and if you get no joy pop into a branch with your passport.rudedog wrote:Anyone else received their card yet? was approved and sent back the agreement almost 2 weeks ago.
