To update......
Took advice here and arranged collection with Tesco last week. Gave a four hour window in which they could collect them and gave the option of leaving them at my front door like the courier did but stipulating that I couldn't guarantee they'd be safe. They opted for the four hour window. Guess what?.........the courier never turned up. I've emailed them again and offered a second collection.
My question is this......at what point have I done enough? I'm getting sick of chasing them to correct their own mistake which, at the end of the day, is in their interest and not mine. I'm thinking if they don't turn up this time I'll tell them they will be sitting on my drive from 0830 some Monday morning and if they want them before someone decides to take them they can come and get them.
Any opinions greatly appreciated.
I know it must be tempting but don't do anything that will allow Tesco to take you to court.
Write to them and tell them they have inconvenienced you and you require compensation for the time you have wasted. Tell them you will also give them one more chance to collect the goods and arrange a firm time with them. Tell them that if they fail to turn up as arranged you will assume they no longer require the goods back and you will dispose of them as you choose.

Sound advice again Art, thanks!Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"

I need some advice,
I'm seeing and hearing a lot of reports about this Lloyds bank ruling.
I sent my initial letter in March 2007 and the bank sent me a full schedule of charges, in total they were £2043 I calculated the interest and it came to £2850. I then sent the letter off requesting this amount.
Lloyds bank replied basically saying its my fault and they will not pay any charges back.
I'm in the process of sending the 3rd letter saying that this is not a satisfactory response and I will accept an offer 25% lower than my original request, but I cannot afford to take the bank to court and I am very worried that they may want to take it further.
Please can someone give me some advice on what to do?
Thanks!0 -

There is a lot of advice on this elsewhere on this site. Have a look at:

The limit of goods you can bring into the country without paying tax was £145 at the time you came home. This limit is being raised next month. You didn't say how much you paid.
Keep us posted on progress.

She has a number of options. After only 6 months she could reject the sofa under the Sale of Good Act and ask for a replacement or refund. She could ask for a repair but if she does this make sure she tells them in writing that if the same thing happens again she will expect a replacement or refund. If she accepts new cushions make sure the whole set is replaced so that they will all match.
If the cushions are discontinued the shop will have to offer a replacement to the same value or a refund.

Thanks for that she is going to take the cushions into the shop today and does not think a repair is going to work what should she say? thanks.0

If she is taking the cushions back I assume she will want them repaired or replaced.
She should tell them that she wants a full set of new cushions. If she agrees to a repair she should tell them that she reserves the right to a replacement if the problem occurs again. Whatever she decides confirm it in writing and keep a copy.
