I bought a TV on the net from a company called savastore on the 30/11/2006 since then savastore was aquired by globally LTD and After a full review of business and technical processes, the site has been reopened under the new name, Saverstore.
When i first phoned them they tried to phob me off and said it was not the same company when it is clearly mentioned on their website.
They now say they have no record of my order number.
Where do i stand and should saverstore handle the repair of my TV.
The TV came with 2 years warranty plus the product should last a reasonable time.
    :confused::confused:

Who provided the warranty? If it's a seperate company they should still honour it for you. You will have to check if the 'new' company has agreed to take on the service liability of the 'old' company. Most times this is the case. Finally, if you paid by credit card to yo them as they are equally liable.

The TV came with 2 years warranty but no mention of who supplies it, i know the manufacturer does give two years warranty as listed on their web site but they want an invoice for proof of date of purchase and all i have is a order acknowledgement and a despatch note via email stating " date of purchase, item info including price paid, order number, customer number". it also has a link for a pdf invoice but the link no longer works. The manufacturer will not accept the items i have as proof of purchase. They argue it is out of warranty going by the serial number (manufactured in june 2006 + 2 months) The TV was manufactured abroad.

Today I check my bank account and they have taken without informing me £60 it took my account overdrawn I am fuming no notice no letter nothing I just tried to phone and guess what all the lines busy it does not even let you hold just tells you to phone back later. Tried to log in but obviously because I cancelled my subscription it is not recognising my log in details so cannot even see what the hell this £60 is for

    Hi,

This is my first post on here, so sorry if it's in the wrong place!

Basically, my fiancee and I have had a problem with Fraser Hart. We got engaged when we went travelling last year and I bought a temporary engagement ring in the Cook Islands until I could give my fiancee the real one back home. I got the size of the ring slightly wrong, and so when we went to order our wedding bands from Fraser Hart, we asked them to make the ring slightly smaller.

When we went to collect it a week or so later, the ring was damaged. The ring has a gold pearl on it, and the pearl seems to have lost it's top layer - the lustre has gone, the colour is darker and the original sheen it had to it is now a dull sort of matt colour. They have also left some scrathes on the ring itself. We complained to them, but Fraser Hart have been incredibly rude and unhelpful. We have had no apology (I am assuming this is because this would be acknowledging a fault on their part) and all they keep telling us is that our rights are that we can 'be no worse off or better off than when we took the ring in to them'

Obviously we are currently much worse off, but all they have offered to do is repalce tjhe pearl, which is not really an option as it will essentially change the ring, which has obvious sentimental value. The pearl is also a natural one from the Cook Islands, and would be impossible to replace. In reality, it would be difficult to ever not be 'worse off' as the damage is irreversable.

What are our rights? What should Fraser Hart be offering? They keep asking us what we want to do, but we've been careful not to make any suggestions in case they throw them back at us at a later date...

ANy help would be most appreciated. Thanks.
  • Hi there,
Can i help me. I am now going down the route of small claims court.out
Basically I bought and paid for a washing machine to be installed and delivered. Had to chase up countless times to find where it was and when it would be delivered. Finally got a date and machine is delivered. As this is my first machine i ask how difficult it is to install washing machines. He replies oh they are really straight forward. To cut a long story short he admitted he was not familiar with my machine pressed numerous buttons and handed the manual to me and said i should read it to get it in english!
I am in shock and scared i wont be able to use machine so call up Hotpoint helpline and finally get through to the right section and they talk me through to restore the default settings and then get it in english.
Dixons call later to find out how everthing went and whether iwould recommmend/use service again. I tell her everything and complain and say i will also put in writing.
I do so and send to addres on website. I clearly state what happened at installation and that i notice a bit of water by my machine. I wait and wait for a reply, call call and then email restating what happened and the notice of water leaking. I wait for a reply , still nothing and then my neighbour below say she's noticed a damp patch appear on her ceiling. I call aftersales care AGAIn and spaek to a sympathetic lady who thinks it appalling i havent been contacted but 'doesnt' have any managers or addresses i can try, she suggests re emailing but marking it urgent this time. I do so and nothing happens, wake up a few days later to find puddles in my kitchen neighbour knocking at my door water coming through her ceiling at two places, one near the light switch. I take picture and video the kitchen and also my neighbours. Call consumer direct explain what has happened draft and send letter before legal action.
Get an email from a lady saying she's sorry i hadnt heard anything from mastercare she was now taking over my case and would get it sorted, someone would come to my house, and sort out compensation and would forward details to Epsom. Epsom reply and say will do nothing but thanks for bringing it to their attention we value your custom and satisfaction hope you continue to shop with us. But no compensation can be given as they havent been given time to rectify the problem!
Call consumer direct and they tell me there is no time limit on comp and to resend a letter before legal action. Whilst doing so i then receive letter from head office saying i'm looking into case will need to hear from epsom! you must wait for their outcome before u do anything. thiis letter comes nearly 3wks after my first legal action letter in which i said 7 DAYS! to be resolved.
Send 2nd letter including response from epsom and question what is a reasonable time to get a response as for me 2 1/2 months is not.
Got finall reply yesterday saying they were not going to anything. once again nearly 2 1/2 wks after i had asked for within 7 days.
My question is surely there is some breach of contract here as i have given them ample opportunity to come and fix the problem. I had someone come to turn off my water supply to the machine who subsequently found the fault was the nut not being tightened enough. I had to do this to prevent further damage and as they didnt seem to want to send anyone out to check. I have video evidence of this being done.
I just cant believe they've behaved this way and left me without a functioning machine and a floor and side units that have been ruined.
Is it likely a court would rule in my favour?

    Many thanks in advance
  • Hello everybody, this is also my first post so please bear with me.

In September of this year, I purchased what was described as a 'Brand New Nokia 6500 Slide Mobile Phone'. The phone was decribed in the ebay listing as 'Unlocked to all Mobile Networks' and also came with the following accessories - spare battery, stereo headset, USB cable, Software disk and memory card (ebay listing No - 320299633110). Unfortunately, when I recieved the phone a couple of days later I discovered that the phone was 'Locked' onto the Orange network and all the accessories were missing!

I liked the phone and so decided I wanted to keep it. I took the phone to the local mobile phone unlocking service and 'Unlocked' the phone for a sum of £40. I contacted the seller and informed them that it had cost me £40 to unlock the phone that was advertised as 'Unlocked' in the first instance. I also asked the whereabouts of the missing accessories that were advertised with the phone. The seller admitted that the phone was 'Locked' onto Orange, but would only offer me £20 as a refund. The missing bits were in the post he claimed.

On the 3rd October I received a package from the seller that contain a USB cable and a software disk. BOTH THESE ITEMS WERE FOR THE NOKIA 6330 MOBILE AND THEREFORE NOT COMPATABLE WITH MY NOKIA 6500 SLIDE. I now think the seller is taking the p**s!!

I had paid for this phone using Paypal and have now used their 'dispute console' to hopefully claim back some of the money. Is the Paypal Protection worth a light? If I'm not successfull using Paypal , what are my chances going to the Small Claims Court?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  • Dear all,

I am looking for a little guidance.

We recently fitted a new bathroom fitted, the parts were bought separately and installed by a plumber.

Included in the project was a walk-in shower, ie with no doors, bought from Plumbits. It is apparent that the shower tray is too short to have no doors, since excessive water splashes on the floor when you have a shower. In my view the unit is not fit for the purpose of having a shower.

We have spoken to Plumbits' manager and he he has suggested to put us in contact with the shower manufacturer. It seems to me that this is something the retailer, not manufacturer should resolve. We paid by credit card.

    Any advice on next steps?

    Thanks!

I have used the dispute procedure. It worked for me but can be tedious. Part of the problem is that it's impossible to speak to anyone and all your dealings have to be done online.

I assume this was a private seller. If all else fails a Small Claims Court action may be the way to go. Write a recorded letter to him giving him 10 days to settle your problem or tell him you will go to court.
