Obviously not - and in that thread she got told all the things shes being told now.

    She never acknowledged that thread

Shes has also been back online and not acknowledged this thread

Guess shes not really after advice or help, prolly looking for us to say that her pet is unruly and needs to be got rid of, you know take the easy option rather then do what pet owners should do and thats look after, guide, train and care for a pet - the HARDER option

Why on earth do some people get puppies if they're not prepared to put in the hard work it takes to train them :wall:

When they realise a few weeks down the line that they've failed in their responsibility to adequately train them properly they just 'get rid' leaving someone else to pick up the pieces and have to start the training process all over again

Dogs don't deserve people like this
“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”
  • Why don't people accept that a pup is hard work and a huge responsibility?

Are they really stupid, ill informed, or just over optimistic?

I just wish people would think about it more carefully before buying a pup, rather than act all surprised when it widdles, sh1ts on the carpet, chews their shoes, nips them or their child - surprise surprise, this is what pups do, if you cannot cope with all these happily, just don't bother getting one.

Just another example of our throwaway, quick solutions society, in which many people do not have time and commitment to properly educate and socialise their kids, never mind a dog.

Sad to say, and I hope this is not the case, but from the signs so far I expect this will be another poor dog stuck in a rescue, put to sleep, or sold to someone who will pay for it then use it to breed.

I think the OP said it all when she was first struggling to toilet train the pup ...

    Hi,

I am in desperate need of help with my 10 week old puppy.

We have had her for a week, I knew she would have to be house trained and was prepared for this. At first she was fine weeing on her puppy mat, but the last 2 nights she has messed as well!!

In addition to this she has started chewing, last night managed to get under the kick boards and chew through electrical wiring.

She is also digging up the garden!!!!

Also any suggestion on the other problems? We have both had dogs before but not one with all of the problems.

You think a ten week old puppy that wees, chews and digs is a problem dog!!??

No, it is normal puppy behaviour, you obviously did not do your research, but blaming the dog is the easy option.

The saddest thing about this particular situation is that the OP had even attempted to get a rescue pup and was turned down, but instead of perhaps accepting that rescues knew that homing a pup in a home with such young children wasnt such a good idea - the op knew better and went out and bought a pup

Now we have another pup, bred to fulfil the "i want now" society and will now be put into rescue...............

makes me sick to the stomach:(:(

    I have a 10 week old lhasa
She is with me in the room all the time, ihave a pee matt down incase and yes she poos and pees on the floor but with clear boundries and taking outside regular she will begin to learn better.
As for diggin yes we have that too and she gets told off and will eventually learn.
A puppy is a rude awakinging to pet ownership...you either get on with it or dont know how to train it and it goes wrong.
If you cant train her then pass her onto someone who can and has time for a puppy.

It wouldn't be so bad if the OP had come back and taken on board some of the excellent advice already offered in this thread on how to rectify the problems, but I strongly suspect that ...

    a) she can't/won't accept constructive criticism in an attempt to help her, and

    b) she doesn't have the patience/tolerance required to properly train a pup, which is particularly evident from earlier comments in that she was already gettign frustrated with it just a week after having it at home, and is already secluding it from the rest of the family due to it's "behaviour"

I agree with suki in that this poor pup is destined to be yet another statistic in rescue kennels :(

But isn't another home far more desirable for this particular pup? :)
At least most pups are adoptable - especially if fostered first to get over the housetraining issue - we all know that 2 weeks of intensive work should fix this so there is hope for the pup - but preferably in another home...

You lot are terrible, this place has become like the houses of parliament, any excuse to say "i told you so" and bicker amongst yourselves like children, you can't all be right all of the time you know, im amazed how quickly people get judged on this forum when virtualy nothing is known about them, it can't look good to new forum members can it?

Actually kaya I think you are being harsh here.

The Op posted way back asking for advice. Way back when she was looking for a pup. She was given advice then which she obviously chose to ignore and went off and got a pup. Sure enough shes back in a week saying the pup is a nightmare and asking for help. Once again we all offer her good and sound advice - once again it looks like she ignored it and so now we are here with her once again asking for help, once again being told the same things and once again choosing to ignore it.

There are only so many times we can be expected to offer help and advice to have it thrown back at us before we start to question the OPs motives.

Yes I agree we dont know the whole story - but you only need to go back and look at a persons posting history to get a pretty good idea.

Now tell me where we are all bickering? It seems to me that those of us who spend a lot of time and effort on this board are reading from the same page
