wahoooooooooo :j :j :j:rotfl:
mega chuffed this morning, have spoke to my housing assoiciation and nearly at the top of the list for a house. At the momment there are 5 of us in a 2 bed 1st floor flat and with 3 kids is rather cramped.
I can't wait to have a garden, with chickens and be able to grow my own frui and veg.
Lots of sorting to do around the flat, really want to get rid of all the junk and non essentials. Must stop spending my pin money on clothes and stick it in the bank for new bits for the house.
have a couple of loads of washing to do today which can go on the line as its nice and sunny at the momment
have to clean out both fish tanks as wellmy favourite job :rotfl:
want to do a bit of patch up painting, so the h/a are satisfied with the decor.
any way must go and get on
reminder to self ,DO NOT START PACKING NO MATTER HOW EXCITED AS IT COULD BE A FEW MONTHS YET :rotfl:
HUGS TO ALL,espacially if not haveing such a good day :grouphug:Saving for the future of the earth0 -
Hi Queenie
Just pottering about on here for an hour before going into York for a couple of Christmas presents.
Might make pizza for tea and then tackle some ironing.
As everyone had forecast a cold winter and power cuts I got a wind up radio and torch combined from Tesco - did not tell DH because he will complain - but not if I produce it when we need it
Might try to get some gel bottles for DDs as they keep pinching mine (theirs are getting worn out)
Eldest daughter was quite shocked when she visited yesterday and mentioned her hair straighteners were bust - I said she had better have an early Christmas pressie and produced a new pair!
Also let her have two duvet covers and fitted sheets for her flat at uni so she had spares. As she now realises (the hard way) how difficult it is to get stuff dry , she graciously accepted them!"This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
Preemie hats - 2.0 -
freyaluck - :j :j :j Fingers X'd for you
elona - that's a great idea re: radio/torch ... haven't seen them in ours but, thanks for the headsup - I shall have to see if they have any! :T
Have fun in York - beautiful place.
Time I was off to do my windows~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Morning all
Penny I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.
Manicdays at least you weren't hurt and that is all that matters, a car can be replaced, you can't!
Freya - good luck, I know what it's like to wait for housing, we gave up in the end and managed to buy one.
Well, everything is done bar the hoovering and ironing some shirts. DH has just taken DS's bike to the repair shop as the chain broke yesterday. I'm a bit gutted as I only ordered his new one for christmas yesterday
Waiting for the weekly parents visit and then it's off to the shops, DH isn't working until tomorrow so he told me not to rush as he will pick DD up from school for me
Money is very tight this month as we are just starting to feel the effects of DH's lower salary and they have reduced our CTC because of last years earnings. We appear to have about £300 a month less than before so things are going to be tight from now on. Trying to reduce the shopping bill but don't know if I can go much lower without starving us allOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -

Know what you mean, we live in a 2 bed first floor flat and there's 5 of us too. Unfortunately we can't afford to move as the house prices in London are too high, BUT... we are much luckier than others as we own our own property and got it pretty cheap 10 years ago (have a lot of equity) so we will manage. We are lucky to have a nice garden as well and that makes a lot of differenceGood luck by the way

Morning, hugs to all :grouphug:
I had a rough nights sleep as well. Stayed up late to watch Misery and actually went to bed at the same time as OH for a change but ended up getting up and finding my PDA and charger so I could play some card games as I was so wide awake. Finally stopped the card games at 1am but tossed and turned trying to sleep until near 2am and then woke up from a nightmare at 2.30! Kept waking up every half-hour or so for no reason to my knowledge. OH had a terrible time trying to get me up this morning as I kept burying myself under the pillow because I didn't want to get up :rotfl: Then I remembered it was Friday so I could have a small lie in tomorrow so eventually got up.
DD is off at school and is VERY excited as they're having sparklers today _pale_ I've warned her over and over to be very careful and sensible but I'm still going to worry until she's home but thats just me being over protective and a worrier. I've promised her that if she is good and sensible in school with the sparklers I will buy her some for at home. I've never bought fireworks as I usually count them as a waste of money as they literally go up in flames/smoke plus I'm a little bit weary of them. We usually either go to see an organised display (thats the plans for tomorrow night :j ) or watch other peoples out the bedroom windows, there were some crackers last year in the close that back onto our house
My plans (apart from worrying about DD  ) are to clean the livingroom as it hasn't been done for 2 weeksWell DD was off last week and its been wet and miserable here all week so with a laminate floor cleaning too much was just silly with the wet footprints etc...well thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
I also need to clean the kitchen, especially the floor. OH has stood in something (we think its a raisin as it was on his slipper and he doesn't go out in them) and managed to leave a nice pattern on my off-white floor  Both floors (livingroom and kitchen) will have to be a hands-and-knees jobs when it comes to washing them as my cloths for the "mop" (read : window cleaning pole thing) are out on the washingline and its raining AGAIN!!!
Right, time to check emails etc then off to start the cleaning. I may even tackle some more ebay listings if I have the time/brain power and will after yesterdays marathon of 10 hours minus going for DD and drink/food breaks!:eek:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Just found out some great news so had to post it here - our Balance Transfers that we submitted on Saturday have gone through already! They cleared yesterday :j So we have got another 6 months at 0% and I can spend some extra money this month on Xmas to get it all done before the mad rush in December
Okay, so the debt repayment day will be delayed SLIGHTLY but with the way ebay sales are going (and no doubt we'll get something at Xmas that we don't want/like - mines usually off one of the IL's
 - that we can list after Xmas! ) we'll be able to put money towards the debts anyway :j:j
There I was all excited about the above news when the back door rattled ALOT, now considering that it usually sticks as it swells up in wet weather etc I was a bit  as it never usually rattles. As I went to have a look I noticed the bottom bolt wasn't on, pulled the handle and the whole door moved!!! That means that the back door has been unlocked except for ONE bolt for I don't know how long :eek::eek: Worrying thing is I can't remember when I last went out the back door - I think it might have been Tuesday which would mean that I went out and spent a whole day in town on Wednesday while the back door was unlocked :eek::eek: I've just locked it now with the key and both bolts, and paranoid me has also put the top bolt on the front door as that was rattling, but thats because it a rubbish door!!! I'm all spooked nowCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Oh what an impovement in the weather today! Its lovely and sunny, I might pop my washing out on the line in a bit. The cat keeps sitting on it in the basket!
I am going to use up some rather out of date mushrooms in a bolognese today freeze it up for other meals. I am also going to do the ironing, I finally managed to sort out the huge back log last week and don't want to get back to that stage again! Were off to a party tomorrow so I need to make sure our clothes are ready to wear.
I might have a go at makeing a shepherds pie later, I have never made on but love them. I really need my mums help though so it might have to wait?
I don't need to do any shopping this week as I spent £6 on wednesday as a top up and am going to make the food we have last until next week. Gone are the days when I spent £30 or more every week on two of us, the cupboards, fridge and freezer would be over flowing but for some reason I just kept buying more and more? I guess it was a habit really. We thats all changed now thanks to MSE and the OS board!
Have a lovely OS day all, take care.0 -
