if they annoy you again just put something really sarcastic as a comment in their reviews.
just find something so minor and put a comment like: "Nice attempt at a review but it would have been nice if you said about..."
Its not inappropriate, you cant be reported but its patronizing as hell, see how they like it
Acting immature FTW0 -

What i was trying to ask was that, anyone who has ordered vouchers from Dooyoo, on average, how long does it take? (which nobody has said yet)
If i had a problem with Dooyoo, i would rather tell them rather than you guys.
I think my vouchers took about a week to come through to my inbox, it might even of been slightly longer than that! hthTotal Debt [STRIKE]£36323[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Dec 2012[/STRIKE] £19000 January 20160 -

Personally I prefer just to not bother reading reviews of people who I consider post unhelpful and patronising comments, or who mark down unfairly or in revenge.
Saves me the stress and deprives them of some miles0 -

I reviewed a London attraction, and wrote about what I thought were the best bits, how good the staff were, how lifelike it all was and how I thought it was the best attraction in London along with a tip about booking in advance. I got a comment saying "IT's a good start, but you need to list the location, admission prices etc". And I though, well, the location is LONDON - do I really need to write the street when it can be found easy enough, and the admission prices change depending on the time of day, the season, if you book in advance or whatever. So not really much point in listing that.
Why do I think I know who wrote such a comment  !? I might just have to go and look to see if I'm right!
You're totally right though, IMHO. Comment about the value of the visit might be good, but a price alone is worthless (and risks dating the review). The address is pointless (unless perhaps to comment on the localoty - it's near X or walkable from the tube or sommat).
You'll never please everyone!direwolf wrote:Im not blaming Dooyoo nor am i getting frustrated, also from my initial question i think i stated that i only orderd the vouchers yesterday.

Apologies, it came across that way. Personally I can't speak for the voucher time as I always wait for cash. I'm not aware of the vouchers taking any longer than the 10 days (and we normally hear on the guide forum if there are any issues).cheap_charlie wrote:Personally I prefer just to not bother reading reviews of people who I consider post unhelpful and patronising comments, or who mark down unfairly or in revenge.
In general I'd agree although I think we all need to be careful about whether a rate is unfair/revenge. It shouldn't, in an ideal system, be the case that every review attracts a 100% VU rating. By ignoring perople who don't rate you (generic not specific!) VU you actually undermine the peer review system and, ultimately, render dooyoo less helpful for the consumer. Honesty is really what's required.

Forgive me butting in here - I'm tired and struggling to get motivated on the housework, so any excuse to avoid the housework!
I have to say I do get irritated when I go to read some new reviews and see a load of people who have posted 5 or 6 reviews, each one within about five minutes of the other.
Second little niggle - when I had just started (only a few months back) I had a comment from a guide on a washing machine review I had done. I had written the review to include the information that I really would have liked to know BEFORE I bought the darn thing, so I thought it might be helpful to someone else. Anyway, one of the comments the guide made about why my review wasn't good enough was that I hadn't said if the machine was noisy! Well, to this day I can't answer that because I don't know what I'm supposed to compare it with, and I'm not usually in the room when it's on, and also I have two machines which are generally running side by side, so of course they are noisy together! But it wouldn't occur to me to put a comment in the review about why I don't feel qualified to comment on how noisy it is - it just wasn't a factor for me. As has been said before - you just can't please everyone. But, I'm afraid I do feel less inclined to review anything in that sector because I feel (personally) that particular guide is rather harsh, and it has put me off.0 -
I know that feeling and I'm a guide!0

ooh, if we're getting into bugbears, reviews of complicated pieces of equipment that start with "I got this last week and it's wonderful".
For some things, digital cameras being the one I'm thinking of, unless you're a professional photographer, there's no way you've gotten to the bottom of whether or not it's a good camera after a week.0 -
I've just gone back and looked at the comment the guide made. A number of people on here keep saying it's opinion that counts and if people want to know the spec they can go to the manufacturer's website... well I put in the opinion. I looked at the manufacturer's website myself before I bought the machine and I put into the review the things that I only discovered after I had used the machine, because it was information that was not on the manufacturer's website. And yet the guide's comments were all about specifics. What is the max rpm? What the rating? Etc etc etc.
Personally I feel that's that kind of info people can get elsewhere, and I did think the info I put in was useful - at least it was info that I really wish I had known before I'd bought. I might not have bought the machine if I'd known these things.
That guide really did put me off. I'd better stop here because I accept we can all have different opinions about what makes a good review, and I don't want to have a go at individuals who can't speak up for themselves. That was his opinion, which is fair enough. But what does bother me is that, over six months later, I'm still irritated (when I think about it) and feel (almost) scared to post a review in that section because the guide is not the nicest. I've 'met' some lovely guides here and there, so I know they are not all like him.0 -

Ah, I was wrong. I don't want to get into discussing an individual op here but I'm not sure the comment was QUITE as blunt or straight as I thought it would be from reading your post.
Remember too that everyone has different requirements!0 -

Oh I don't expect "Very Useful" ratings from every person who reads my reviews.
However I have encountered a handful of people who seem to delight in marking down an outstanding review just for the sake of it without passing any comment on it either.
I am not even talking about how these people rate MY reviews, but their ratings on other reviews I have read, including crowned ones.
As for guides offering advice remember that they have a right to an opinion too - and so long as the advice is constructive then try to accept it and not dwell on it. If a guide chooses to be rude and unhelpful, then that's another matter of course.0
