Thnaks everyone, might consider the canaries and Greece. Just dont want to see any more rain!
Carol, where would you recommend?0 -
I'd suggest Nerja in Andalucia flying in to Malaga airport. We pay about £300 a week for an apartment (between 4) get some cheap flights to malaga and you're sorted. Usually costs us about £600 between the 2 of us for 2 weeks in spending money as we go to the local tapas bars.
Plenty of culture and traditional Spanish life there.0 -
The OP says that they are thinking about late September. I would say that for good weather you would need to go to the Canaries rather than mainland or the Balearics......0

I'm gonna say Lanzarote, but only because I love the place so I'm biased!
We go the very first week in October (went last October too, same week), because out of all the canaries, Lanzarote is the hottest at that time of the year.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

Sorry but my knowledge is limited to the Costa Blanca area of Spain. For what it's worth my suggestion is to move your holiday to the last week of October and go to Calpe for the Moors and Christians fiesta.0

Greece over Canaries anyday.
If you want it nice & hot & cheap how about Crete.
Or Rhodes?0 -

Calpes a lovely place - not been in over 5 years now, so I'm not sure how much it's changed, but if it's anything like it was then I'd recommend there too.
If you're after the really good weather then you'd probably be better off in the Canaries, as Spain can be a bit hit and miss at the end of September. I was in Cala D'or (in Majorca - lovely place, worth considering too) in September last year, and while most days it was sunny, it wasn't really hot enough to laze around the pool all day.
