have just insured my 2 cats with petplan one is 18months and 1 is only 9weeks, have gone with the budget plan of £9 a month each, is this policy okor should i be going with a more expensive one, are there any better policys out there0
-
high cost doesn't necessarily mean good. I'm not sure what petplan offer above the likes of M&S and Tesco but they seem to be alot more expensive. Worth reading the policies of them and comparing them.

Can you elaborate? I have just checked out this thread 'cause the pony insurance is up for renewal. Been with E&L for 3 yrs without any claims and there is never much price difference between the few horse/pony insurance providers. I would probably end up renewing it through existing but now you've got me worried.0 -

They have a terrible reputation for not paying out, and will go to great lengths to avoid it. Many vets and small animal hospitals refuse to deal direct with them because they reject so many claims. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -
Thanks for the warning. I will maybe go with Petplan Equine though they are quite a bit dearer or maybe try NFU but they don't have online quote and I hate having to phone and go through all the questions. Or I could always sell the kids pony and have myself a winter sun holiday.0

Do M&S Pet insurance cover for life illnesses and also is it better to get a policy with £50 excess or the Nil excess?0
-
They cover illnesses for life, as long as you renew each year, obviously. There is a set amount per illness, but this is reset each year. I went for a Nil excess policy, but I couldn't say which would be better for you. It depends how often you are likely to claim. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0

Hi,
I know this has been done numerous times & i have read all the old posts but it really is a minefield out there. I am the proud owner of a new puppy & have been researching pet insurance companies as i really need to be insured.
The kennel club wanted £66 a month to insure me & although i want the best for my dog, i can insure my home and my family (& mother-in-law if i had one!) for less than that a month, so after many hours of trawling i came accross NFU Union pet insurance, which offers everything i need for a great premium. I went ahead & signed up and am quite happy that they offer permenant healthcare as i phoned their solicitors & underwriters who were really helpful & confirmed it was a lifetime policy, unlike many others who offer a limited amount per condition, but still sell the policy as 'lifetime cover'.
The thing i would like to ask is can anyone offer any reviews on the National Farmers Union Insurance? I have not seen much feedback, but what little i did see gave glowing reports, ie very prompt in settling claims, no quibble etc. Can anyone offer any insight into this company please?

Hmmm,
Shall we call that a 'NO' then?0 -
never heard of this one so will watch your thread with interest.
I was just about to sign up with M&S- half the cost of petplan and more cover...0
