Shrimper, sorry I wouldnt touch anything that E and L are involved in - Id not feel secure.
Don't get me wrong, I'm far from recommending them. If I had a choice, I would switch. But as the vet has said he has a heart mumour, I guess this will not be covered if I move insurance now.
I may just take the chance and move him anyway. Not sure what could be done for a mumour anyway. Wouldn't risk any op now at his age so I guess to only outcome is it gets the better of him, with or without good insurance cover.0 -
Just a quick follow up on my calls to E&L. I am apparently entitled to cancel at any time, which is great news. But I only found out after 40 mins on their premium rate line, arguing with the hostile supervisor and then the office manager. My point was that I didn't want to pay for a policy when I hadn't received the documentation. They are so incompetent. The number they give out for customer services is in fact the private number of some poor bloke who is sick of people calling about pet insurance.
I was told to call the incorrect number (which is printed on all the paperwork/emails) and also given a customer services email, which I wrote to but still had no response. I have cancelled the direct debit at my bank anyway. Have checked out a few proper policies, M&S looks like good value but for full perks have to join the £20/ a month.
Money is tight just now, am self employed and had no work for 6 months. So I'll have to consider which is the most basic bare bones reliable policy I can manage on for this year.0 -

Does anyone know off hand if Axa cover dental work for Cats? I doubt it but thought i'd ask as they're closed right now & I can't find my info! Tess needs an extraction, just one afaik but who knows once they get in & see what's what?0

Lily, if you go to their website they usually have all the ins and outs on there.
Generally the insurers seem to cover teeth if they are causing illness but not for routine cleaning and so on. Have a look.
Just looked myself - seems to exclude "dentistry not relating to illness or accident"0 -

Ahh pretty much what I was expecting, I said to the Vet I doubt it's covered but will make sure I check! Food is but idk if this food they want to give her will be. So £200+ for the Cat & £400 or so for the Dog lol least the Dogs is covered!0 -
But if the teeth are causing abscesses or something, isnt that illness?0
