My puss is 8 and she costs me £94 a year, you've got acheap quote there. Marks and spencers are the best pet insurers by far perhaps if you phoned then, you may be able to pay direct.0
-
It looks like you do have a good quote our ten year old is costing us about £89 pa with direct line - we have made claims against that and they've never given us any hassle for these. When I looked and switching I was struggling due to her age.
If you do get anywhere - let me know.0 -
For an animal over 8 years old a lot of the cover no longer applies too with many policies.
You should be able to get DD by getting yourself a basic bank account. Nobody should be denied access to the banking system just because they have had financial problems in the past, just no access to borrowing or credit.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

I would agree with M&S as well if you go for a cheaper one make sure they pay out yearly for a condition.
some ongoing conditions can cost a lot each year & a lot of policies will pay out a maximim of say £3,000 per condition the M&S one (unless they have changed it) pays out per year so a continuing condition can be claimed for each year.
Hope that made sense,

I've just purchased two puppies, has anyone insured a pet recently? I've been advised to look at Tesco's insurance policies, anyone here using them?0
-
I insured my puppy with Tesco's the day I got her by filling in the form online. It was quick and easy and quite cheap. You also get clubcard points on it. Luckily I havn't had to make a claim yet but they seem quite efficient so I dont think there would be any problem.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I have just changed to Sainsburys. They are half the price of what I was paying to Pinnacle.0

I haven't got a dog, but a moggie & found M&S pet insurance one of the best on offer. You get a 5% reduction if you apply online.
Go check it out.http://www6.marksandspencer.com/pages/default.asp?PageId=home&Product=PI&source=The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
We had similar problem in ensuring elderly pets until we found https://www.healthy-pets.co.uk and couldn't believe the prices. We have the basic policy - £1000 vets fees per condition with £50 excess - no extras as we are not taking elderly pets abroad and they aren't pedigree, so there's no monetary value for them. Policy includes Dog aged 9 at £13.20 per month, cat aged 9 at £3.58 per month and our young cat aged 2 at £2.55 per month. We had just received renewal notice for our old cat's previous insurance policy wanting £12 per month, so this was quite a saving.
Haven't had to make a claim yet, so don't know how good they are, but policy is underwritten by AXA, so should be fine.0
