The part where the heatsink/fan was touching the card should have contained a thin layer of thermal paste to facilitate the easy transfer of heat between the card and the heatsink. Anywhere else and it should be removable.
Ideally, now you've removed it you would want to replace it with a new layer of paste, but as you presumably don't have any to hand, just sticking it back on should be ok.
And yes, you can just reinstall the old drivers again (Though as I mentioned, with my MX440 the official Nvidia drivers wouldn't install so I had to use the omega drivers that I linked to instead. If the PC is a dell, you'll be able to download drivers from the dell website for the 420 that will 100% work.

I have put the graph card in I have to check yet about the drivers not sure if they are up to date or not but it says in divice manager 7/04/2004 version 5673.

Everything is much bigger than it was before, how do I adjust that what should it be? does it matter which I change first the driver or the size of everything?

Its quite wobbly too a bit of a ripple when scrolling
    Thanx

Right click Properties on your desktop and then Settings Tab. Adjust the screen resolution slider, refresh rate etc.

Thanx settings are ok now :)

I have took the hardrive out and it is a bit weird this is the exact one http://cgi.ebay.com/Maxtor-DiamondMax-10-80GB-SATA-Hard-Drive-6L080M0_W0QQitemZ130244326388QQcmdZViewItem?IMSfp=TL0808051218r37580

There isnt a wide ribbon thing that someone mentioned earlier there is just a long red plastic covered thin ribbon type connection with ends that look similar to a usb but they arent usb connections. Can I still set this up with this motherboard as I can't see any gold type connections on it that it was plugged into on the asus board. There is also no slots on the maxtor either that a ribbon would go into.

I can't see anything that says master or slave either

I was a bit confused because there were 2 hardrives in the faulty pc one of them is 164.7gb in size which has a wide grey ribbon thing and the 80gb maxtor one with the thin plastic ribbon. I'm confused what is what now and what is on what drive.
Should I be fitting the 164.7gb one as thats bigger isnt it? I never used it in the other pc
How can I get this 80gb maxtor in
    Thanx

Sounds like its a SATA drive.

Essentially, there's two types of drives. IDE and SATA.
    IDE:

    SATA:

Your motherboard will deffinately have room for IDE, but may not have SATA ports. I think the sata has the same port on both ends so you should be able to see if there is one. Alternatively, you can buy a PCI card that gives you some SATA ports.

If your motherboard does not have sata ports, you could use the drive with sata expansion card e.g. here

Perfect timing espresso, thats the PCI card I was talking about. Essentially, if you have a spare PCI slot (Most computers do) you can just slot it in, much like you put your graphics card in. Install the drivers, and then you can plug the sata drive into that card.

Should I put the IDE hardrive in then as it seems to be bigger anyway but I don't know why I never used it before.

    It is a Hitachi HDS722516VLAT20

The one I have here there does not look like that it has like a little motherboard thing on the bottom half and a broken circle of silver at the top.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something on this computer as there are red crosses on your last post iviv

I checked the flash player and got that but its still showing red crosses
    Thanx

Yes if you have that drive, you could fit that. The red crosses are pictures, do you have your browser set to display images?

Hmm, they should just be imageshack images. Can you visit imageshack.us? Alternatively, wikipedia saves the day. IDE and SATA. The IDE article has the cable at the top, SATA has it half way down.

Anyway, that's what the inside of the drive looks like. On 99% of hard drives thats covered. However, on the bottom there should be some exposed circuit board like you can see. This is perfectly normal. And if you plug the spare drive in depends on what cables you have available. Not only will you need a spare IDE cable and somewhere on the motherboard to plug it in, you'll also need to deliver power to it. For the cable to the motherboard, check the one going to your other hard drive. The ribbon cables often have two connectors, one at the end, and one around two thirds along. Though there's a very good chance one of these is going to your current hard drive, and one to your CD drive.
As for power, you may have some spare Molex connectors in there, which you can just plug into the drive. If not, you'll have to find a splitter to turn one of the existing molex connectors going to the current hard drive into two connectors.
