Boosting your Tesco Clubcard Points Discussion Area

I have said this many times before, I think it's misleading to say you're making 'profit' on these Clubcard deals because the price of some of these deals are hugely inflated. Martin does point out that the real value of your points are actually worth approx 3x the value (and not 4x as Tesco state) but I think its a lot less than this. The phone deal in Martins newsletter today, obviously it makes back the same amount of points as you spend, HOWEVER you can sell that phone for £13 to fonebank, therefore coming out £13 up. Am I missing something?0 -
It depends really - if I were going to spend £40 excluding drinks on a meal at Bella Italia then the £40 deal voucher really is worth £40 because there are no other ways to get the meal cheaper.
A day trip to Alton Towers is not always so good though because the 2 for 1 offers (and family tickets) are widely available, so if there are an even number of people going they could all have got in for half price, so the deal voucher is effectively worth double, not quadruple the points value. I did it once when we were only buying one ticket for an extra adult, so it seemed worth 4x on that occasion.
I use my points for Merlin passes. There are offers on sometimes, to save 20% etc. but also there's a renewal price if you buy your renewal instead of using clubcard points. I can't remember how much cheaper it is, perhaps 25% cheaper? So in that case the renewal isn't worth 4x your points.52% tight0 -

Hi
Apologies if this has already been said but I can't find the info anywhere.
My wife works at Tesco so she would use her discount card first which is also her clubcard and would then pay with the credit card.
Do you actually get points on both cards thereby doubling your points? I want to know if it is worth applying for one to boost the points earned.

I am afraid she only gets 1 lot of points with this.

Am I the only person greeting the news of double points with an air of "Tesco giveth, Tesco taketh away?"
If it's a short term promo- "To mark the launch...double the points" etc, thats one thing. But I can't help thinking that doubling points will mean that something- I'm guessing deals- will suffer.Only dead fish go with the flow...0 -

They have already suffered - they've put limits on Cosmos (£400 per person), Virgin (£700 per person), introduced more Pay-In-Full deals like Madame Tussauds which are cr4p if you have kids rather than the £5 gives you £20 towards type. :eek:creased-leach wrote: »Am I the only person greeting the news of double points with an air of "Tesco giveth, Tesco taketh away?"

It's fine for everyday shopping but if you collect mega points (e.g. recent wine offer) it's not so good.If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat

Hi there apoligies if this has been asked before:-
I've just picked up my tesco Credit Card which when i applied asked to have paired with my clubcard. However the clubcard number on it is different than that of my original clubcard and when i asked the lady on the phone she said that was fine. However i used the Credit Card a few times (not in tesco so should be 1 point/4£) yesterday and the points i should have got are not showing on my account when i log in online - does this normally take a few days to show or has something gone wrong?
Thanks!
