wondered if someone can help on another credit card query

the tesco club card credit arrived on saturday and i've used it twice today - once away from tesco and just now at a local tesco

i asked the lady whether the points would go on if i just paid on the card without scanning it etc or using my old club card and she said yes. i put it into the chip&pin machine and she said the points weren't working

she then swiped the card and again that didnt work

she then got some help and someone manually added the points on but instead of getting 5 points for £4 spent (i spent £9) so expected 10 points, they only added 9 points on

question is, is this a one-off or a problem with the card? if i hadn't of said anything and had of just paid on the credit card would the points of gone on, using the correct 5pts for £4 ratio?

The points for using the credit card don't come up at the same time as the shopping. As I'm aware, they are added at the time your statement is generated (once a month). There was some debate about this a month or so back, but don't panic that they aren't being added at the checkout.

thanks for confirming that, that helps a lot and is reassuring! i'll keep an eye on my balance of points etc online next month to check

further up the thread (last week) i posted and asked whether the points earned and the total balance would still be shown on the receipt and someone replied back confirming that they would, instead today the bottom of my receipt says "you could have earned 9 pts today in this transaction"

    Hi

I bought the Lactose free long life milk yesterday and it said that you get 25 extra points for buying this product.

I checked my receipt when I got home and the EXTRA POINTS didn't show up.

Does anyone know whether these points should show up immediately or whether they get added to my account after a couple of days???

    Many thanks in advance.

AFAIK the points for those kind of promotions show up immediately. If they don't, I normally go to the customer services straight away. There had been some issues though with the champagne points in the last few weeks. I bought some Pure milk that was in a similar promotion and it did show up straight away.

According to tesco.com, this offer is when you buy two.

I had the same thing with the Pure Milk offer. When I looked more closely, the label actually said 2 Pure Milk etc...... - it wasn't immediately obvious that you had to buy two because the number 2 was right at the beginning and was easily overlooked.

Yesterday I tried to sign up for the repeat prescription service - to be told that they didn't pick from a surgery 3 miles away....too far? Too far?....What's this service for then?!

I complained to CS about this, as normally they say 'buy any 2 and get ..... points). I thought the labels were very subtle. I got a shrug of the shoulders in response. Not good when Mr T gets sneaky

Hi, just been accepted for a tesco visa card, 5 points for £4 in store etc, but can i use my clubcard plus account to pay off my visa card. IE, put money into my clubcard plus 1 point for every pound and then transfer it to pay my visa card that i've used in tesco and elsewhere, i know its fiddly, but with the points doubling up in store i may as well try and take advantage.
