One of my "big" bags has got "worth 3 green points" printed on the side. Having said that, I now have 14 till receipts where NO green points have been added even though I've mentioned adding them to the cashier while they scan the goods. A couple of times when I've had to go to CS anyway I've got them added on, but I have the distinct impression there's a conspiracy going on. One time I was so infuriated I grabbed a dozen plastic bags from the end of a till on my way out.0

I use the big blue bags and they always give me 3 points for each one.0

There have been a few occasions when I've not been awarded my "Green" points for reusing bags too. It's a real pain!0

I read something on here a while ago that Tesco policy has now changed to 1 point per bag. Having said that, my local are still being very generous with green points (when they remember to add them) but another I use does seem to have changed to 1 point per bag - I think it's probably down to the individual store management.0

Tesco policy is now 1 point per bag no matter how big it is unless it is a Tesco bag that states on the side that it is 3 points. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

Storck has posted their current policy, although it does depend on which cashier you get. In the last month I've had three cases where the cashier hasn't given me any points and two cases where I've been given more points than I should, so it tends to even itself out.
They also seem to be paying more attention to the number of bags/points people claim for at the quick self scan tills, so I guess that they think people have been abusing the system. Last week I went to the quick self scan till with a basket that contained three one litre bottles of water and about eight or nine other items. I had on me a rucksack (so that I could carry the bottles of water) which contained a large Tesco bag. I scanned the items, and then entered the number of own bags used as 2, and as soon as I did that the Tesco member of staff who was monitoring the self scan tills came charging over, the conversation went something like this :-
Tesco staff : Did you just claim for 2 bags?
Me : That's right.
Tesco staff : But you've only got one bag?
Me : No, there's another bag inside the rucksack.
Tesco staff : Show me. (didn't bother to say please or anything)
Me : (I considered answering 'Have you got a search warrant?' but she didn't look happy so went with) Ok, as I have to get it out anyway.
Tesco staff : Fine. You can get on with the packing.
She then notices that I put the three bottles in the rucksack and the other items into my large Tesco bag.
Tesco staff : Couldn't you put all the items into the one large bag?
Me : Well they would most probably all fit, but I find it easier to carry them if I split them into two bags.
Tesco staff : But surely you could manage to carry them all in one bag to your car.
Me : I might struggle as my car is at home, which is a twenty minute walk away.
Tesco staff : Ah, but you're only supposed to claim the number of bags that are needed for the shopping, so you should only have claimed for one bag as it would all fit into the large bag. I'll let you off this time, but pay attention next time.
At that point I'd had enough and went to find the manager, who agreed that I'd done nothing wrong and that the member of staff was being over zealous.0 -
You could always go through the self service tills (if you've got them) about 10 times. One small bag of shopping at a time & give yourself 2 points each time.
Depends how much spare time you've got. I forgot something once so went back & got 2 points for a 35p spend.0 -
Favor, you don't shop at Bletchley do you? I had a very similar conversation with a bordeline rude assistant who kicked off because I wanted to spread my shopping equally over several bags to make it easier to carry (I have a back problem), and didn't want to put a pair of trainers with my food shopping. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I go through the self serve till at my local store about 5 times a day as I work very close by and every time I give myself 2 points even if I have used their bags. I have never been questioned, once when I did my full shop through it and put 5 points it had to be authorised and was told anything over 2 has to be authorised.
I am tempted to just use my big green bag that says three points on everytime I shop even if it is just for a packet of fags.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550
