Hi All
Can somebody help clarify the Airmiles for me please.
I have £55.50 in clubcard vouchers. How many miles will that give me?
The Clubcard site says £2.50 = 60miles. Now as a first timer does that mean I would get 120 miles???
And if that is the case am I correct in thinking I'd get 2640 miles?
If it is that gets me to Zone 3. My prefered destinations would be Zone 4 or higher.
Now would I be able to pay the difference and would it be worthwhile (outside of the main holiday seasons I would use them)
And as it would involve 2 persons flying can anyone tell me whether it works out any good?
Thanks in advance.0 -

On the double points offer you get 60 per £2.50 then a bonus of 60 per £2.50 some time later. So your calculation is correct but you may have to wait for all to be credited.
Have a look at the airmiles site for your destination. Normally when you make a flight enquiry you are given 3 options. All airmiles, partial airmiles and money, and all money. It would be worth looking at the options your destination is giving as you may not want to convert all your miles. Normally longer flights give better conversion value than shorthall.
It is worth mentioning that most flight options are from Heathrow and Gatwick if a flight is available from a regional airport there is an airmile supplement added to the normal zone airmile rate.0 -
What I do is convert my clubcard points to Airmiles but instead of buying flights I use the Airmiles to book hotels. I book my flights with the cheapies, either Ryanair or Easyjet, which gives me much cheaper flights than buying with Air Miles.
For instance I am off to Malaga on Tuesday, flights cost £28 in total for wife and I and 5,100 Air Miles bought us a week in a 4 start hotel bed and breakfast for a week. If I booked direct with the hotel not using Air Miles it would cost me just short of £500 for the week.
£28 for a week in Costa del Sol at this time of year doesn't seem a bad deal to me. Unfortunately 10 day forecast tells me we are due for quite a bit of rain.
I have to shop at Tesco all year round and I use a Tesco credit Card which gives me additional points and I take advantage of a lot of their offers to boost my total.0 -
By my calculation it costs £212.50 in Tesco vouchers to buy 5100 airmiles. If this is only paying £500 for a hotel bill this does not seem to be particularly generous. The basic reference point with Tesco rewards is that you get 4 times the nominal value of the Tesco vouchers, ie in this case it 'should' pay for a hotel bill of £850. I'm sure I'm missing something - perhaps someone can clarify? Is something doubled somewhere?

Incidentally there seem to be several other rewards, eg Thorntons and RAC, which are below the 'x4' calculation. I will stick with restaurants for the time being...0

I've just booked a Virgin holiday using £700 pp of Tesco vouchers and was NOT charged the brochure price. I've only had to pay £180 pp towards a two week holiday to Thailand with direct flights in a 5 star hotel so I'm over the moon. Price quoted was basically the online price without the 5% online booking discount.0

There is the value dealPackage Rentals per month Disc at home Monthly Feehttp://www.tescodvdrental.com/learn/
DVD - 2 Discs per month 2 1 £3.97
That was the point i was trying to make. The value deal is not £4 on the tesco website. It must have increased.0 -

I looked into Airmiles for a trip to New York, but found out that booking it was more cost effective via the Deals and Virgin Holidays.0 -

Can someone help me out please?
I've got about £400 of Tesco vouchers, unconverted as yet (been saving for ages!) and I was going to just book a quick and easy cosmos package to somewhere in Europe for me and my family (2 kiddies under 4). I've decided against this though since the £400 limit was introduced and I'm now looking into the airmiles. Since I've not used this before I know I can double up on the exchange if I can only decide what to do! I'm sure I've seen airmiles advertise packages to villas in spain before, but I can't seem to find it now. Can anyone tell me where I can find this again, or if anyone has any ideas on how best to spend my vouchers for a holiday, please let me know! I'm also open to going to Ireland but can I book a holiday cottage using vouchers?
Thanks!0
