good morning roomies!!!
glad to see everyone is staying positive!!!
paid £10 off EGG this morning - hopefully will have it under £1000 by monday. I could pay a big chunk off now if I really wanted but I enjoy logging in each morning to pay off a little bit - its soooo addictive!!!
to think in january my CC debt was £4100 and now its just a 'mear' 1k. sometimes I really have to pinch myself to make sure its not a dream!! have also managed to pay off my £1500 OD and £900 car finance. its taken really hard work and determination. there have been some weeks when I have worked over 80hrs. its what you do though isnt it when your determined to pay off your debts!!. once this last CC is paid off, I am looking forward to doing more 'normal' hours!! lol
anyhoo - sob story over!!
take care everyone

jennyred - that's fantastic. I get just as much of a kick out of seeing others pay off debts or add to savings.
I've just got another £19 from mystery shops so that'll be going into the ISA too. Just need to move it across and I'll be over my first £100 target. My item on ebay will be finished this weekend so there'll be at least another £5 to go in on Sunday:j

Hiya one and all
£2 to A&L today. I am going to have to add my Tesco card as an occasional payment as it is the only one I can get refunds against. Had an £8 payment to them yesterday unexpectedly, so that's very good news. I'll adjust my siggie now...

I am on a bit of a downer. I just called up my credit card company to make a payment now that I have been paid of my normal payment of £100 plus the £14 extra to make up that extra pound a day until the end of August and Guess what my new balance in £1362.78 so I have spent around £369 since last week on my credit card!!!!
I had to get my car serviced and pay for my laptop to be repaired and I also drew out cash to live on as I had reached my overdraft limit on my bank account. My plan now is to to do a budget and try and stick to it. I will also try and pay something off the credit card debt even if it is only 50p a day.
Sorry Emily, the amount that I owe now on the card has gone up to £1248.78.In Shackles to the debt God to the tune of nearly £4000 but at least my sigs got pretty colours in it!
Barclaycard £3000
Tesco Credit Card £1233.84
Argos £328.54
Total: £4652.380 -

Just got some expenses in and managed to pay over £1K off a card - so that one is clear - and hopefully will stay that way. Next one I am targeting has a balance of £4458.41 on it and my snowball is telling me I should pay it off by end of January 2009 - so am going to aim for Christmas! So rather than counting normal payments in this challenge I am only going to count overpayments on this card.0

Hey there - try not to beat yourself up too much about it. On the positive side, you're probably much more aware of the balances since you started trying to make a difference with this challenge. Before this, you probably would have shrugged and gone 'oh, well I needed x, y & z and I can pay it back over time' (at least I know that's what I did), now you're thinking 'darn, how to I get this paid back asap?'
That's the main thing I am getting out of this challenge - it's helping turn around my attitude on a daily basis and will contribute to the long term aim we all strive for - a debt free life :T
Keep going, get your budget under control, get that spending diary out and I reckon this time in a month or so you'll start to see the positive benefits.
Keep it up - we're all here to motivate each other when we need itDebt at lightbulb moment: £44,220. Paid off to date: £27,634 (62%) :j
Halifax CC (0% 10 months): £9,000; Zopa Loan = £7,586([STRIKE]36[/STRIKE] 16 payments to go) TOTAL = £16,5860
