I could and would do that, but actually it is OH's responsibility to pay the Littlewoods bill (because the main things we are still paying for are his bike and his new electric guitar). He has now been instructed not to make payments of less than £20!:DPigginSkint's debt free diary

Don't use Coinstar, as they charge
Is there a charge to use Coinstar?
Yes. For Coins-to-Cash service, Coinstar charges a processing fee. In the UK you'll pay approximately 7.9p for every £ of coins counted. In Ireland you'll pay 9.4 cents per Euro counted. Our customers tell us they are willing to pay a small service charge for speed and convenience rather than sort, count, roll and carry their coins to a bank.
More money given away
Get some bags from the bank and sit down and do some counting. Or, as I read on another thread HSBC have counting machines for free. You would need to check if this is the case with your local HSBC.
7.9p for £1 don't sound too bad..
79p for £10 mmmm......
£7.90 for £100 eek, now it starts to sound expensive......
Not got a HSBC Account? Don't forget to use Quidco to get £20 cashback for opening an account http://www.quidco.com/finance/bank-accounts/hsbc-bank-account/ You could use it just to pay your change in and watch the account grow.
Mmmmm, I'm off to do that now!I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -

Just spotted these other T&C on the Cointsar web site. It appears if you put any foreign coins in by error, it might even keep them! and not give you anything for them. More worringly are the £5 coins, which it will just keep. Makes you wonder about the reliability factor of the machine and if a coin is a bit bent, does it just keep them without payment.
How would you know? After all, you don't bother counting it to check...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Where else would you just hand over a load of dosh and rely on a third party to give you back it's true worth? Especially a computer!!
Do I need to sort my coins before using the Coinstar Centre?
No. Coinstar accepts any quantity of unsorted coins in your local currency. Coinstar's patented technology filters out foreign coins and other debris. However, these items may not be returned by our processors so it is a good idea to remove such items as five pound commemorative coins, pure silver coinage, foreign, damaged or sticky coins, and other debris from your stored coins.I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100
