  • i think this is a fabulous idea. i think i will give this a go. at the moment i am debt free but three years ago i split up with my husband and he left me with over three thousand pounds of debt. somehow ive managed to pay this all off and i am now debt free. i done this whilst on income support and have had the extra expense of a new baby who was born 18 months ago. i have a bottle which is hidden and put a little each week into it. i have no idea how much is in it but there must be over a hundred pounds at least in it. i think i will do with out something none essential every day and put the extra money into this bottle. that way if for some reason i have to find emergency money then at least i will have something to fall back on.

hi i just got a response of egg about my egg card payments and interest this is what they said

Any debit card payments will take up to 5 working days to be applied to your account

Interest is calculated on a daily basis on each transaction and added to your account on your statement date.

so does this mean by paying off a little each day its better for the interest ???

That's the way I understand it. I try to pay CC as soon as bill comes in to lower the next months interest.

  • Morning all. Paid £20 off my CC today as it's payday tomorrow so I don't need the extra money in my bank account. Total for CC has gone up though because I needed to buy petrol the other day - but will pay that off tomorrow when I get paid. I've never been so excited about payday!
