A payment a day............

Good morning all
You will notice that I have amended my signature so that it doesn't mention the amount I am paying on my Barclaycard anymore (Or maybe you won't notice :rotfl:)
I have opened an account with which to pay off my overdraft and am going to also be sending some PAD money there too, so it didn't make sense just to have the Barclaycard money in there. Once the overdraft is gone, this will be my Pay Off The Loan account! The loan won't accept payments through online banking, so I am going to have to save up funds then go to the bank every month or two to repay. The interest is all front-loaded, so it won't make any difference to the debt if I'm not paying in daily.
So, today I have paid £1.50 to open the new overdraft account, and £2 to the Barclaycard. I checked my statement this morning online and I have paid off £83.79 since my last statement - all thanks to PAD.Without this thread I would have made my £25 minimum payment and nothing else, so thanks one and all
For those of you keeping up with developments in the Love Life of Fresianme and t'other half had a good long chat last night.
We have many things to work on, but don't want to give up on the last eight years, so we're working on our relationship and hopefully will be together for a very long time to come
In other news, I have joined the legions of DFWs who have a diary for motivation, mine is here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1350169 Do pop in for a cuppa some time

:rotfl: :rotfl: I'll use that on my son !!! don't think he'll appreciate it tho somehow! George is 8 in March and Amber is 7 also in March and yes I've had them since they were 8 weeks old, they're not happy at the mo as I've put them on a diet :rotfl: I'm afraid Amber is a typical female one bite of anything and it goes straight to her hips :rotfl: they're both can eat for england but george seems to be able to run it off whereas miss piggy is a bit lazy!!! she prefers snuggling upto me and trying to scoff my chocs :rotfl:

Afternoon all - thank you all for the kind words of encouragement yesterday.
So lastnight i was still really annoyed with myself, had a huge arguement with OH because i feel like im constantly fighting to get this debt down while he just keeps spending.
Anyway he promised to try harder and i think he realised how much i worry about the debt, i know its not a huge amount but its too much for me!! He made a good start today, we had to go food shopping and instead of just throwing things in the trolley he was looking at all the prices and just putting in things we actually needed. Result = shopping bill half the price!! :j
Also i looked at my credit card statements from last year and discovered that last christmas i spent £1300 on my cards!! So in the grand scheme of things £200 really isnt that bad.
So....onwards and upwards!! £2 paid to HSBC CC.
Thank you all again for the encouragementBiggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

welcome properly, cady!
hope your OH recovers quickly, double_trouble - it's no fun recuperating and it's no fun for you doing everything on your own...i agree that the figures are last on your to-do list...
have a lovely hols, big beff - what will the weather be like in sri lanka this time of year?
glad to hear your crisis talks have yielded a positive result, flying fresian - that's a great christmas present come early!
so i braved asda this morning (how much can people possibly buy for the holiday season???!!!) and had a very modest shop compared to most of the lunatics in there. (apart from 6 giant slabs of dairy milk - they're for the chocolate fountain on boxing day and again on 28th when some friends are coming round - honest!)
have decided to keep my ebay profits in my account to make sure i can keep up with my pound a day payment- although i have budgeted for christmas this year, i don't want to leave myself with nothing at all!
so a pound from me today. happy friday! :beer:Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A
