  • Hi gang

Wonderful to see all the new members.:hello:

Great that people are prepared to give themselves challenges at what is a very difficult time of year  .I say go for it what have you got to lose and it will mean that you will start 2009 in a better place debtwise.

£20 for me today to HSBC had my first statement from them yesterday since I started PAD and it was great to just see all those payments and only the interest going on and next month's projected interest is down and so is my minimum payment so with the extra payments I am making it is starting to make a difference already.
    :j

Off to M & S now to take advantage of the 20% off will use my M&S card to get the points but will make a payment equal to the amount spent when I get home I would not have done that just a few weeks ago.:money:

    DTxx

  • Will be small PAD payments after today, though ~ as usual, there is too much month left at the end of the money.......

Love it - same for me this month!

I have paid 1.38 to savings account today.

Now have some bigger decisions to make:
    • choose a target for holiday savings
    • and a target for "what if" account savings
    • make up my mind whether I should pack in my gym membership (94 pounds a month for me and two kids , DH was dropped months ago for non-attendance!). we *do* use it, but we could go out for walks for free or use the wii fit more. i would really miss the swimming pool & sauna but would really like to save nearly 100 pounds. i have to give 3 months notice, so will probably do that this week - if i change my mind, i can always retract.
    have a good day! x
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

Hi all and welcome to the other newbies.

I had bought some Pj's in M&S last week and when I got them home wasn't sure if I liked them or not. Well today I bit the bullet and decided I'd rather have £23 in my account than a pair of Jammies I am not sure if I would wear so I took them back.

£8 refunded to M&S card and £15 to my gift card which I had partially bought them with. Then had a quick look round the sale and bought a per una jumper reduced from £30 to £9 and then had another £1.80 off due to the 20% sale. Paid that with my gift card so have £7.80 left on my gift card which I may use for hankies/socks an xmas pressie for little ones grandad if I can't find anything else I think he would like.

PAD therefore £8 today, although its to my M&S card as opposed to overdraft which I am trying to clear. Have to say this thread is great as before I joined this challenge I would have kept the jammies which I didn't really need or like and have been £23 down:o

35p in the post as well from my loose change.

okay enough rambling - off to think what I can do for tomorrow's PAD!!!
  • Just 0.50p for me today again.

Also displeased with myself as I forgot to take my book to work with me today, so I ended up buying a magazine from the petrol station to read whilst waiting outside eldest son's school, and I ended up buying two magazines, a bar of chocolate and a bag of crisps. I can resist everything but temptation!

Had my final electric bill in today from British Gas, an enormous £178 which is from 6th August to 2 November!
    Start Date: 27/11/2010
    Padding: Day 42
    Target £8000
    Amount: £562.23

    Hi all
Had to go to M&S but the queues nearly put me off. Sadly there was something I needed to buy for DSs so had to endure it and even the 20% off didn't really make me feel happier. Still it was only time I had to spend and not much money so I guess it makes sense.

£24.05 for me today which is the result of several days of coppers and finds as well as a some money a friend gave me back for shopping for her. Must get this under £200 by the end of this month somehow - for no other reason than I REALLY want to.

  • Am very late today, wasn't sure I was going to have anything but just checked my emails and have sold another cd, so £1.59 for me today. Also trying to get into using quidco more and doing the freestuff on there to earn pennies, so hopefully will have more to come from there shortly :-) Am pleased how it's adding up and my normal monthly payment came off my loan today which brought the balance down too, will add my pad total to it at the end of the month.
