anyway just wanted to also ask if anyone has had any backlash to this payment a day from any creditor??????????
    Hi maz1964 - welcome back
I haven't had any backlash from any of my creditors but capital one have had a few days where I haven't been able to make a payment online but everyone else has been ok.
i don;t think there will be any back lash as creditors aren't allowed to refuse payments.

Well, £2.50 towards SKYCARD again for me today.

Am gonna set up a spreadsheet that shows all my debts (cards and loans), their payment days, their totals and a grand total.

Should motivate me to spend less and pay off more.

Got to look at getting 2nd job as well - just weekends. Have applied to Tesco to do a weekend .com delivery job - fingers crossed. Would be FANTASTIC to be able to put, say £250 extra towards debts each month.

My company is laying people off at mo, 20% are going, but I think I am one of the 'lucky' ones who has survived.

    Loving this thread!

Hiya everyone, have just paid £5 towards my cc n added another 50p to my jar. Gonna have to concentrate more on cc at the mo too as one of my interest free rates is up this month.
Have just sorted out my xmas pressies ready to wrap, thought i'd bought them all but still have my gran n dad to buy for.
I've decided i need to have a good clear out too. My wardrobes are bulging with all sorts of stuff, so i made a start today by getting rid of 10 pairs of shoes - mainly tatty old work shoes i should of binned ages ago! - and 10 tops i've not worn in years. Also came across an old rowing machine tucked away right at the back, gutted cuz its broke so cant sell it. My plan is to get rid/charity something every day till the end of the month so i can get my bedroom organised again.

  • I bought DS1's Wii at the weekend (his Christmas Pressie too!), had been saving savers stamps at Morrisons, plus I get 10% staff discount, so didnt actually have to hand over any cash (which is great as I don have any!)

Feeling a little down today (probably just tired!), DH has interviews for two jobs and got 'Sorry But' letters in the post today from both companies. He is a Mortgage advisor who works for himself, so things are not going so great with his business, and we might end up raiding all our savings :(

Still, we have three beautiful children and we are a happy family, so thats the most important thing.

Just going to put some change in my pig today. not much left in the bank account!
  • If anyone wants to do a spreadsheet, I've found that the Martin Lewis 'Budget Planner' does a great one that you can save and alter as you wish - great for working out your monthly finances!

(Link is on the main Martin Lewis page, on the right hand side, about half-way down the page under 'free tools'. Click 'Download the Budget Planner' and then 'Budget Planner Spreadsheet'. You can save your work to your own computer as you go along in your 'documents'.)

    Have fun! x

Spent much of the afternoon logging my debts, and making sure I am on track...........its scary how much I owe!

The good news. One of my loans finishes in March 09, and that frees us £151.41 each month to throw at other debts.

Other loan that is costing me £140 each month finishes in Oct 09.

Current worry is moving some credit card debts around that the interest rate is high on. (have got a couple of low lifetime balances on the go - but need more!).

Thanks to this website, I know I can do it!

Oh, and I realised that my SKYCARD is now in credit by about £2.00...damn 'payment a day!':rotfl:
  • Manic day but another £1.00 for the halifax cc.

Thanks everyone for posting it's great to read how everyone is plodding away at their debts.

Good evening all. Well I finally sorted out the bank problems but I've had to use all of the money I'd saved  as this was the only way I could transfer the money quickly so that the mortgage was covered. At least it means that all of the money is still sitting in the A&L account. It means, though, that I've got nothing left in my account until the end of the month. I have some change in my purse though so I'll add that to the change pot for today's payment.

I'm not an early bird either. DH is up at 6am to walk the dogs but I stay in bed until he brings me a cuppa when he gets back. Even then I struggle to get up. I'm more a mid morning and early evening person.
